This sounds terribly saddening, but the venue won't be totally gone forever.

Instead, after its sale to AEG and Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the hall we know and love will receive an extensive facelift.

But don't you worry, NYC! The venue will still hold a bunch of final shows with artists from Rag N Bone Man to Good Charlotte, along with "farewell" parties on regular party nights.

To those that aren't aware, Webster Hall is one of the biggest independent running music halls in the city.

And despite the fact that the hall as always been perceived as a bit grungy, it seemed to also always attract a decent crowd—especially around 2 a.m. on a special Sunday night last June

Now that the venue is under new ownership, it's going to be getting what we think will be a pretty serious upgrade.

Or at least we assume it will be, considering how its been for years.

So if you're a dedicated fan of the hall, make sure you catch one of their final shows!

The place will still stand as a venue, but it won't be the same after all its changes, obvi.

We hope to see you there, NYC! August is coming up sooner than you think.
