What is spoiled NYC?
For over a decade, we’ve been eating our way through New York, staying out later than we should, and then telling you too much about it. Our stories are full of obsessions and trends, and everything in between that makes us curious and excited about New York.
Who we write for
We write for people who take part in New York. The ones who enjoy, appreciate, and share. The curious souls, the adventurous spirits, and the people who explore.
We take part, too
We don’t only write about New York. We go out in it, and we create our own nights. Since 2015, we’ve thrown rooftop parties and filled boats on the Hudson and East Rivers with up to 600 people, staged a drag competition on a yacht, hosted make-pizza-and-drink-wine nights in local restaurants, and put on a photo exhibition with W New York. We’ve been at the pop-ups, the openings, and the shows, and we’re always hype to share it with you.

Scenes of New York life. These city photographs illustrate the places we take part in; they do not document the spoiled events described here.
What we cover in New York
A New York experience can last a night, a season, or a year. The city has continuity, and so do its stories. We follow places and people over time, including the restaurants people miss after they close. Some of our stories peel the layers back.
We appreciate the past and are excited about the future. We’ve seen New York at its most resilient and most celebratory, so let’s keep it going.
New York has a lot of cool shit, and we think more people can enjoy those possibilities. There’s history and culture and innovation that bring out the most interesting parts in all of us.
We’ve written about places to eat and drink, relax, refresh, recharge, and return to do it again.

Our values
Depth
Enough context that anyone can join in, whether it is your first month here or your twentieth year.
Specificity
The room, the dish, the price, the night it is actually good. Never "real New Yorkers know".
Access
We help you get closer to the city with its rooms and its people.
Context
The smell whets the appetite and makes for a richer flavor, so we share why a thing belongs to New York, and who made it that way.
Care
We take part in a place without taking it apart. Neighborhoods are places families live and stories get shared, not content. Leave NYC in a better place. Don’t sully it.
Many voices
The city is too big for any one point of view. Our writers and creators bring their own histories, perspectives, and connection to the stories they tell.
Be part of the next story
There is always more of New York to notice. We want to keep finding it with people who care about the places and communities they cover.
