It's Literally Raining Cats & Dogs! 7 Amazing Things Happening This Weekend in NYC

YEAH THIS HEADLINE IS A PUN! WHAT OF IT?! We couldn't help it. There's a Cat Convention AND a Dog Brunch going down in NYC this weekend.

There are also a ton of dance parties, a cocktail expo, a food truck festival, and MORE.

And yes, it may be back to freakin' freezing cold this weekend, but we're willing to bundle up for these events. That's how good they are.

March is shaping up to be a pretty dope month, so far. And it's not even St. Patrick's Day yet!

So grab your human or animal bestie and hit the town this weekend, there's plenty to do/eat/drink.

Friday, March 10th

1. Purim Party @ House of Yes (2 Wyckoff Avenue, Brooklyn)

What's crazier than Halloween and Mardi Gras combined? PURIM, OF COURSE! Personally we love any excuse to go to a costume party, and of course, support our Jewish friends.

House of Yes is hosting the ultimate Purim dance party on Friday night, to honor the story of Queen Esther.

There will be a make-over parlor, body painting, aerialists, and more! PLUS $100 cash prize for the best costumes! Yas, Purim!

2. Quiet Clubbing Light Painting Party @ Bohemian Hall (2919 24th Ave, Queens)

How about some quiet dancing in Queens? The massive Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden is hosting a Quiet Clubbing dance party this Friday night and it's gonna get lit.

That's because it's also a light painting party! The event will be partnering up with the light painting app PABLO to bring you a light painting photo booth! V. cool.

And hopefully we all know what a quiet dance party is by now? It's that thing where everyone get's a pair of head phones and can switch back and forth between 3 DJ's all night long, aka there is no excuse to sit a song out because you don't like it.

NEVER. STOP. DANCING.

Saturday, March 11th

3. Cat Camp @ The Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street)

Because NYC always gotta be so extra, we’ve gone a couple steps up from Cat Cafes with this two day cat convention– need we say more?

The Metropolitan Pavilion will be filled with hundreds of cat lovers celebrating all things cats, including several adoption events, engaging talks from celebrity cats, and more!

4. Dogs Who Brunch @ TurnStyle (1000 South 8th Avenue)

ARE YOU A DOG WHO BRUNCHES? ARE YOU THE HUMAN OF A DOG WHO BRUNCHES?

Not to be outdone by Cat Camp, Dog & Co. is hosting their first ever Dogs Who Brunch event at TurnStyle this Saturday. There will be free breakfast treats for dogs and humans alike, a mimosa bar (for the humans), live music, and a paw-tastic photo booth!

Proceeds go to Sugar Mutts Rescue in Brooklyn. Is it creepy if we go and we don't own a dog? Because I want to go to there.

Sunday, March 12th

5. Cocktail Expo @ Bohemian Hall (2919 24th Ave, Queens)

General admission for this amazing excuse to drink a bunch of liquor (lol be safe, fam) includes one cocktail from each exhibitor, small food bites, and access to some dope giveaways and prizes.

There will be sweet, fizzy, bubbly, bold, spicy, and even more imaginative cocktail tastings from some of the top bars in Queens.
