New Yorkers are very touchy about where we allow events to be held.
With so many venues around the City, it's hard for some to understand why anyone would want to host a concert or festival anywhere besides Madison Square Garden or Barclay's Center where these events "belong."
But in truth, contemporary audiences are largely fed up with traditional venues, especially because an event held in a prestigious venue will most definitely carry prestigiously priced tickets.
Bottom line: New Yorkers all have an opinion, and they're all consumers of entertainment.
So it's no surprise that there's massive conjecture over the Governor's Ball vs Panorama vs MSG's proposed festival debacle, the "winner" of which is due to be the king of New York City's summer music festival scene.
It's also no surprise that residents of the South Bronx took offense to a gentrification themed rave in their back yard.
But now, the madness has spilled over into Crown Heights and Sunset Park neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
Time Warp, a German based two-day electronic music festival that's gained acclaim among festival heads as one of the best organized and curated events in the world is in the crosshairs of angry Brooklynites who want their neighborhood kept free of events that, to them, reek of gentrification.

This year's Time Warp was due to be held at the Bedford-Union Armory in Crown Heights on November 20-21st, but organizers announced on Friday that the festival will be moved to the 39th Street Pier in Sunset Park.
Why? Crown Heights residents disagree with a two-day electronic music festival being held in close proximity to their homes and places of worship as the traffic surrounding the festival would undoubtedly interfere with attending and conducting religious services.

This isn't the first time Time Warp's had venue issues.
Last year, it was supposed to go down in the Bronx, but residents had similar complaints, and the festival ended up in Sunset Park. This year, Time Warp will be returning to the 39th Street Pier, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Fans from last year were mainly very satisfied with their experience and the venue, so it's all good, right?
