Friday, September 7th

Our Senses: An Immersive Experience at the ANMH (Central Park West at 79th Street, Manhattan @ 10 AM–5:45 PM)

The American Natural Museum of History presents Our Senses: An Immersive Experience. This exhibit challenges the human senses by tricking and manipulating them in 11 funhouse-style spaces. Pictured above is a room that appears to curve and shift but is in fact flat and is one of the many different ways the ANMH contests your reality.

The exhibit started November of last year and will run all the way till January 2019 but don’t let that keep you from visiting the ANMH ASAP! For information on ticketing, follow this link to the ANHM website.


2018 Brooklyn BreWING Festival (247 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn @ 7 PM)


Ya like wings? Ya like beer? Well, does Brooklyn BreWING Festival have a deal for you! From 7 PM to 9 PM, Brooklyn BreWING Festival is offering you unlimited wings and craft beer (beer’s only for an hour though) at the trendy Clinton Hall.

Upon purchasing your ticket, you have unlimited access to these six flavors: Buffalo, BBQ, Teriyaki+ Sesame, CH Sassy, Thai Red Curry, and Chipotle Maple. Killer!

Just remember, the unlimited craft beer is only from 7 PM to 8 PM so get there on time if you’re looking to get your drink on. Tickets and additional information are available on Eventbrite.


Fashion Week Afterparty (156 W 38th Street, Manhattan @ 10 PM)

Ring in your Fashion Week with a rad party presented by Bent Parties. Turn up with other Fashion Week patrons at Jimmy’s Eat Drink Party. Show off your fashion know-how at their Dress to Impress Party which starts at 11 PM.

Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4

If you’re itching to explore New York City without leaving your couch, you should play the new Spider-Man game, released only on PS4! Spider-Man is an open world, web-slinging adventure with hours and hours of content that is sure to keep you busy the whole weekend if you’re up for a mini staycation :joy:

You can visit both real world and fictional New York locations like the World Trade Center and Avengers Tower, and climb up them Spidey style! You can pick up the game at any local video game retailer like Game Stop or Best Buy.


Saturday, September 8th

Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit (E 13th Street, Washington Square Park @ 12 PM)

Is it time to buy a new painting for that blank wall in your living room?

The outdoors art exhibit hosted in Washington Square Park has become a tradition. Artists from numerous art disciplines come together to showcase their modern works for visitors. Hundreds of different exhibitors will display and sell their paintings, sculptures, photography, woodcraft, and jewelry creating a personal creative space for onlookers and prospective buyers.

Dances of Vice: Beyond the Veil (680 12th Ave, Hell’s Kitchen @ 8 PM)

Dances of Vice is a cutting-edge, thrilling show that features cabaret, fetish-inspired circus acts, and much much more. Needless to say, the show is recommended for patrons 18 years of age or older. The September shows will have a new theme that focuses on late 18th Century French foilles.

Coney Island Beard and Moustache Competition (1208 Surf Ave, Coney Island @ 8 PM)

Coney Island presents the Coney Island Beard and Moustache Competition, offering contestants a chance to show off their most creative, intriguing and bizarre mustache/beard styles.

Some of the categories for the competition include “The Brass Ring” (Best in Show), “Coney Island Curl” (Best Mustache Styled), “Dog and Pony” (Best Partial Beard or Chops), “Carny Trash” (Worst in Show) and many more.

octfest (15 Evans Road, Governor’s Island @ 2 PM)

If you’re a fan of beer and shoegaze, octfest is the place to be this weekend. Venture out to Governor’s Island via the ferry for a weekend of music, craft beer, and delicious food. You can purchase a ticket for one day or the whole weekend which includes a sample of all kinds of craft beers.


Sunday, September 9th

West Side County Fair (Pier 1 Riverside Park Slope W 70th Street, Manhattan @ 1 PM)

It’s always the right time for theatrics!

Magic comes to Manhattan, armed with live performances from the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, City Stompers, City Stompers and more. Enjoy carnival rides, games, cotton candy, sideshow performers, local vendors and the live music for free! Organized by Summer on the Hudson, it’s suitable for the entire family.


Carnival De Le Cultura Latina (Roosevelt 37th Avenue, Queens @ 12 pm)

Salsa! Tacos! Hispanic culture!

Fresh latin cuisine, goods vendors, live music and other performers are celebrating in this ever-growing annual festival. The free carnival will stretch on for several blocks, to offer a vast variety of food, drinks, carnival rides, face painting and other services! Grab some fresh empanadas, churrasco steak or street style corn and enjoy the performances.


Wanderlust (Prospect Park, Brooklyn @ 7:30 AM)

Start your Sunday off right with Wanderlust, a yoga festival and “spiritual triathlon” that includes a 5K, guided meditation, dance party, and guided meditation. The festival runs till 3:30 PM so keep that mind if you have anything else planned in the afternoon. You’ll definitely feel refreshed after attending Wanderlust.
