Mark these events down in your calendar and bask in the fun that is set out for you this weekend.


Friday September 21st

Brooklyn Night Market (272 Meserole Street, Brooklyn @ 4:00 PM)

Come check out some of NYC’s amazing food vendors for this ‘one of a kind foodie nightlife experience’. The Midnight Market offers a great place to eat for a great price, as well as drink at their all-night happy hour bar.

Room for Tea is a great way to immerse yourself into tea culture! The Last Dragon - Free Outdoor Screening (Parade Ground on Governor’s Island @ 7:00 PM)

The final free outdoor screening of the summer at Governors Island is of the delightful martial arts cult classic The Last Dragon! Prior to the movie, the star of the film, Taimak, will be having a meet-and-greet from 6:30-7 by the beer garden/picnic area.

Ferries will run from the Battery Maritime in Lower Manhattan, located at 10 South Street. We recommend taking the 6:30, 7, or 7:30pm ferry in order to arrive before the film begins. Food vendors and a beer garden will be open to attendees starting at 7pm.


Art Battle New York (158 Bleecker Street, Manhattan @ 7:00 PM)

Watch a room explode with creation at this live competition, which holds a series of New York’s best painters who compete in several round of live painting.

Artists from all over have been coming together to be a part of the world’s largest live painting community and secure that top spot!

San Junipero - A Retrowave Party (361 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn @ 11:30 )

The party we didn’t know we needed but man, are we grateful for anyway. Plug yourself into your favorite Black Mirror episode and enjoy the first all-retrowave party in NYC.

With music inspired by 1980’s pop culture, immerse yourself into the era by throwing on 80’s inspired attire. Grab your ripped jeans and airbrushed t-shirts, slick your hair back or put it up in a scrunchie, and make heaven a place on Earth!

Sunday September 23rd

Tribeca TV Festival (Spring Studios, 50 Varick Street, Soho @ various times)

bigscreenny If you love TV as much as us, you won’t want to miss the @tribeca TV festival coming up next week! Grab those tix for sneak peaks and incredible talks from your favorite shows!

The annual Tribeca TV Festival presents three days of premieres and panels featuring the very best of television. All weekend, there will be a panel discussion including Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Dick Wolf and the rest of the cast of Law and Order: SVU. Bryan Cranston looks back on Breaking Bad for the tenth anniversary of its premiere, and Tracey Ullman shows up to preview a new season of HBO zaniness. The festival will also host a viewing of one of Anthony Bourdain's finale episodes of Parts Unknown.

Tickets to each event can be bought on their website, and range from $20–$30. Don't miss the chance to bask in the glow of the small screen.


Feast of San Gennaro (Little Italy on Mulberry Street, New York)

The gift that keeps on giving. Sail away to Naples on this 11-day excursion to take part in one of the best parts of Italian culture, delicious food.

Finishing off this weekend, you could enjoy the last bit of the festival by taking part in their live entertainment and contests, as well as eating and drinking at some of Little Italy’s finest restaurants. There are also the street fair where people can purchase cannoli, fried dough, torrone, and sausage-and-pepper sandwiches.

sangennaronyc #SanGennaro is the patron saint of Naples, Italy. Every year on the 19th of September citizens of Naples patiently await the miracle of the liquefaction of his blood. Yesterday Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe confirmed the blood miracle had occurred once again, promising good luck for the year to come. In #NYC, the Saint's figure was carried through Little Italy to the delight of all in attendance.

Guests can also check out the focus of the event: a customary procession of the statue of San Gennaro

Ferris wheels, rides, and so on, come to Mulberry Street and soak in the Italian-American culture for free!


A Hard Day’s Night - Screening & Tribute Concert (4140 Broadway, Manhattan @ 4:30 PM)

Enjoy a screening of one of the greatest rock-and-roll comedy adventures ever, the 1964 movie “A Hard Day’s Night”.

The event also hosts the Beatles tribute band, Strawberry Fields, a group of true look-alike performers, handpicked from hundreds of auditionees, who speak in Liverpudlian accents and play on the vintage musical instruments Beatles fans have come to recognize. The bassist is even left-handed, just like Paul! It is as close to a real Beatles concert as you can get.

Friends “Brunch” Trivia (417 9th Avenue, Hudson Yards @ 1:00 PM)

Could you BE any more of a FRIENDS fan? Put it to the test at this Friends Trivia Night, the most exciting thing to ever happen in NYC since Joey became Doctor Drake Ramoray on Days Of Our Lives.

Five rounds of challenging questions, so make sure you DON’T GO ON A BREAK and practice your knowledge!
