Best or Worst News Ever? The Rainbow Bagel Store on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn Is Closing... "Indefinitely"

Is this a case of too fast, too soon? Sure sounds like it.

We first cracked the news about The Bagel Store's rainbow bagels back in October, and just a couple of weeks ago, their success was highlighted yet again with that viral video of how the colorful bagels are actually made.

Now, there's news of this. The Bedford Avenue location has officially closed for... renovations?

"We got slammed like you cannot believe," Francine LaBarbara, The Bagel Store's Marketing Coordinator told Gothamist. "I haven't slept in a couple of weeks. I'm going to say it's been crazy its been crazy since Christmas. Business Insider put us over the top."

"We needed to revisit everything that's happening, to make the shop better. The Graham location has been slammed... Everything had to be redone, to make sure we were okay. It's really just basic maintenance," LaBarbara said.

The good news is that the 754 Metropolitan Avenue location will remain open. In even better news, LaBarbara stated she hopes to have the Bedford Avenue location reopen again by this week.

We aren't sure how much renovation can be done in a couple of weeks, but hey, whatever works right? All that being said, you can catch us on Metropolitan Avenue for the time being.

Or we might just visit any of the other best bagel shops in New York City. As if there aren't a ton of them, right?
