Say Hello To The Weekend: July 6th Weekend Guide 🧐🌇🗓

July 4th is over.

Summer is officially in full swing, and the city is vibrating.

Independence day may be over, but that doesn’t mean the party has to end. Here are some weekend doings to that will make you want to scream.

Beyonce VS Rihanna Dance Party (Lot 45 Bushwick, Brooklyn @ 4 PM)

stateofmode

If we need to sell this to you in any way, then you are not a true American.

Literally, the ad is 2 lines: one is the date and one is the time.

Entry with RSVP is free before Midnight. After it’s $10 - $20. All guests must be 21 or over to enter. Get your ticket and have a genuine religious experience TONIGHT!

Space Jam Drinking Game (308 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn @ 11:59 PM)

Space👏Jam👏Drinking👏Game👏

Tonight at Videology Bar & Cinema,  relive this heartwarming classic while slurring your words at bugs bunny and a youngish Michael Jordan.

Tickets are 12 dollars but who among us can put a price on alcohol, WB cartoons, and Michael Jordan in, what I believe to be, his true prime.

Phoenix at Brooklyn Steel (319 Frost Street, Brooklyn @ 8:00 PM)

brooklynsteel

French dance-pop favorites, Phoenix, are back in New York for a whopping four-show run at Brooklyn Steel.

With a back catalogue including indie hallmarks such as If I Ever Feel Better, Lisztomania, and 1901, this show is guaranteed to have you dancing all night.

And if you can’t make it to the show tonight,  tickets are still on sale for this upcoming Monday and Tuesday.

Ant-Man and The Wasp link (@ Literally every theater all across the city)

Do you hear that?

It’s the sound of your inner child screaming to be let out.

What better way to feed the beast then to see the Newest Marvel movie? If you’ve made peace with your inner child, Paul Rudd will probably take his shirt off: birthday, Christmas, and a repeat of my sexual awakening to Clueless wrapped up in one.

It’s inaugural first viewing is playing everywhere so we don’t want to hear any excuses, Cheryl.

Saturday Night Rooftop Party at Monarch (71 West 35th Street, Manhattan @ 10 PM)

flysundays

You may have heard the adage that Saturdays are for the boys, but they are also for rooftop parties!
Register for FREE for a Rooftop Party at the Monarch. While there aren't any butterflies,  there will be alcohol, Music, and Men (and other attractive people) dancing the night away.

Riis Park Beach Bazaar (Bay 9, Arverne @ 1 PM)

riisbazaar

Show of hands: who else is sweltering daily on the subways, in the streets, or in your 12th floor studio walk-up, and broken A/C?

It can’t just be us!

I refuse to believe that’s the case. If you need a break from the human sauna that is the city, our spies tell us that Riis Park Beach Bazaar is the place to be.

DJs, drinking, and music guests all on a beach. At the very least, stick your toes in the sand and forget about the stack of reports on your desk.

Yoga on the Beach (Beach 108th Street in Rockaway Beach, Queens @ 8:15 AM)

Take some you time and find your zen on the beach.

Bend, stretch, move, and shake it out with some Yoga. Relax, it’s Free.

Eat & Party at Hudson Terrace Rooftop (621 West 46th Street, Hell's Kitchen @ 2 PM)

Some prefer to have friends in high places; I prefer to have brunch in high places. Brunch, booze, and breathe in some fresh air at Hudson Terrace's Independence Week Brunch. $10 goes you the chance to party it up at a higher altitude with some good-quality food.

Brunch and Day Party (1264 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn @ 11:00 AM)

queenppei

Brunch and bottomless mimosas.

What else could you ask for?

With food like lobster mac, fried chicken and waffles, and red velvet pancakes, this brunch really is flawless - and it’s coupled with an all-day party to ensure that you get as much out of your weekend as possible.

79th Street Greenmarket (Columbus Ave between 77th and 81st Streets, Manhattan @ 9 AM)

thecrunchyradish

This weekend, spend some time at this or any of the many other Greenmarkets in NYC.

You'll leave knowing that the money you spent is going to local farmers, and also get to take a relaxing walk through stands filled with beautiful, beautiful food.

Hudson River Nature Walk (Christopher St and West St, Manhattan @ 9:00 AM)

pameladee03

The concrete jungle can be suffocating at times, we know.

Sometimes, all you need is a little bit of nature to raise your spirits for the week to come. You can find it (with the help of professional guides) on this tour, where you’ll learn about local plants, insects, and animals. Best of all, it won’t cost you a thing!

RuPaul's Drag Race Trivia (308 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn @ 11:59 PM)

rupaulsdragrace

Put your knowledge to the test and sissy that walk into Videology Bar and Cinema for some Drag Race Trivia. You don’t need to go to London to hear Queens yell at each other. You can do that right in Brooklyn! Even if you don’t know the show, it’s a great chance to grab some drinks and see an event that can only be described as a Gay trivia decathlon with the inherent rage of straight men watching sports.
