Because Midtown's More Than Just a Tourist Trap: Find the Perfect Summer Rooftop at the Sanctuary Hotel

If there's just one thing we love about New York City in the summer, it's the breathtaking views we get from all of NYC's spectacular rooftop bars.

But we don't love just one thing about NYC in the summer. We're not dumb. There's a lot.

There's, like, more than a handful of things we love: fresh seasonal cocktails, great views from rooftops, food, and, possibly the most important, those special spots in town that make you feel as though you're not in NYC anymore.

Whether you're just making a weekend staycation of it, or simply popping up to the rooftop for an incredible happy hour view, The Sanctuary Hotel is, well, sanctuary from all of the noise of Midtown.

This summer The Sanctuary Hotel is bringing together everything we love about Summertime in NYC to their gorgeous rooftop bar, Haven Rooftop

The Sanctuary Hotel is the perfect escape from the hustle and grind of the city.

Whether you're just making a weekend staycation of it, or simply popping up to the rooftop for an incredible happy hour view, The Sanctuary Hotel is, well, sanctuary from all of the noise of Midtown.

It's one of those better kept secrets in Midtown which is wildly important when considering the deluge of tourist traps and costumed goons sucking the life out of Times Square.

But Haven Rooftop isn't just another rooftop bar this summer. It's not something you'll lose in the shuffle in finding THE spot rather than just another spot in NYC serving alcohol. #StruggleBus

It's also not one of those rooftop bars you get up to and pray that it doesn't rain. Unlike many of NYC's other rooftop bars, Haven Rooftop's open all the time with a nifty tented enclosure that allows them to stay open 7 days a week.

Nope. They're doin' it big.

They've transformed Haven’s main rooftop into an exotic summertime playground, complete with lounge chairs, communal tables, and various outdoor summer games providing that coveted exotic escape you never knew you didn't have to leave Manhattan to get.

Their award-winning mixologist, Isaac Grillo, has crafted a pretty dope cocktail menu with incredibly fresh seasonal ingredients in drinks like their "Summertime Ibiza Sangria" and "Safe Haven."

But don't drink on an empty stomach. You wouldn't, would you? No. You're not dumb. You haven't been dumb since that one time in college that you don't quite remember, but you remember the next day well enough to know that alcohol and a few cups of water for lunch don't play well together.

It's hard to make that decision to be that dumb when you've got a menu like the one Chef Madison Belem's crafted.

Their signature dishes, such as the "Crab & Avocado Palette" and "Havenly Chicken," as well as seasonal dishes like the "Lobster Roll" and "Sesame Crusted Tuna," are, well, bonkers.

Bonkers is a word. Bonkers is a word we would use to describe food. Bonkers is a word we would use to describe food that is out-of-this-world delicious.

Sure, we love living under the bright lights of this big city, but sometimes we need a brief reprieve from the insanity that comes with Midtown Manhattan.

The Sanctuary Hotel is the tucked-away-secret that's offering exactly that. Haven Rooftop is the perfect getaway-without-actually-getting-away destination you knew you needed, but just didn't know where to find in New York City this summer.
