Pizza on the Pier Returns to Fornino in Brooklyn With NYC’s Top Pizzaiolis on a Mission to Give Back

Brooklyn’s waterfront is about to become a pizza lover’s paradise as Slice Out Hunger brings back its beloved Pizza on the Pier for its sixth annual celebration. Taking place on Saturday, May 9th at Fornino  at Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 6. BK Bridge Park) the event invites guests to indulge in unlimited slices from more than 30 of New York City’s most acclaimed pizza makers—all while supporting a powerful cause.

Set against a scenic backdrop in Dumbo, the afternoon unfolds across three 90-minute sessions (12–1:30 p.m., 1:45–3:15 p.m., and 3:30–5 p.m.), giving attendees the flexibility to curate their ideal tasting experience or go wild and choose to grab tickets to all three. Each session will feature exclusive pies crafted on-site using Fiero Forni and Ooni ovens, offering a rare opportunity to sample one-of-a-kind creations from some of the city’s most celebrated pizzaioli. This year’s lineup reads like a who’s who of the pizza world, with talent including Maggie Mieles of Di Fara Pizza, Giorgia Caporuscio of Don Antonio, and Amanda Gurciullo of Emily, alongside standout names like Nino Coniglio and Shealyn Coniglio of Lucky Charlie. Dozens more will be serving inventive, event-only pies, making it one of the most dynamic pizza gatherings of the year.

Beyond the indulgence, Pizza on the Pier remains rooted in purpose. One hundred percent of ticket proceeds support Slice Out Hunger’s Pie It Forward initiative, which provides meals to food-insecure communities through partnerships with shelters and soup kitchens across the city. It’s a rare event where every bite directly contributes to fighting hunger. To accommodate a wide range of dietary preferences, Session II will spotlight plant-based options from every participating pizza maker, while select vendors throughout the day will offer gluten-free dough upon request.

Whether you’re a die-hard traditionalist or exploring alternative options, there’s something for every kind of pizza enthusiast. With its unbeatable combination of top-tier talent, waterfront views, and meaningful impact, Pizza on the Pier continues to cement itself as one of New York’s most anticipated spring food events—where great pizza meets an even greater cause.
