Okay so we all know the oldest date in the book is dinner and a movie.
But what if you could do both in the same place? Oh, right that has been done already actually. But what if you could go to a fancy OYSTER BAR and then go see a movie all in the same place? There that's more specific.
A new oyster bar opened in the Roxy Hotel in Tribeca last month, which houses the beloved Roxy Cinema downstairs.
With happy hour deals of $1 oysters and discounted cocktails, and some of the cheapest movie tickets in town at $10, it's the perfect fancy-on-a-budget date idea!
Just slurp down some oysters and cocktails, then head downstairs to catch a flick at the Roxy Cinema. Don't eat too many oysters before the movie, though... You know what they say about oysters, and getting it on in a public movie theater is still frowned upon, y'all.
The Roxy has a fun rotation of new, indie, and classic films. Here's what's on deck for the last two weekends of March:
Friday, March 24
Hackshaw Ridge at 7:30pm
Marie Antoinette at midnight
Saturday, March 25
Jawbreaker at 4pm
Another Earth at 6pm
Jackie at 7:35pm
Manchester By The Sea at 9:30pm
Carrie at midnight
[anad]
Sunday, March 26
Clueless at 2pm
Nocturnal Animals at 4:30pm
Gas, Food & Lodging at 6pm
Fences at 8pm
Thursday, March 30
Moonlight at 7:30pm
Friday, March 31
Harry Benson: Shoot First at 7pm
Fences at 9pm
Multiple Maniacs at midnight
Admission is complimentary for guests, so maybe make a whole night of it, check into a room, and then go ahead and eat all the oysters your li'l heart desires? Sounds like a hot date to us.
