Love wins once again!
New York City will finally be getting a monument dedicated to the LGBTQ community.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the monument on the same day as NYC's 2017 Pride March.
He stated that this piece of art will be dedicated in remembrance of all of the victims from the 2016 attack at Pulse nightclub in Orlando that left 49 people dead.
A great change is happening throughout NYC, and it's called LOVE! Excited for this monument? Well, no one knows for sure when it'll be up, but we do know where.
This amazing piece of art will be installed right along the western edge of Greenwich Village, within Hudson River Park. It contains nine pieces of boulders to create one big installation.
We know what you're thinking– what do 9 enormous rocks have to do with the LGBT community? Well some boulders within this piece contain strips of borosilicate glass, which have the ability of refracting light to create rainbows.
