Magnolia Bakery is one of the most famous bakeries in New York City. People know it from Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, and generally crediting it with starting the cupcake craze that swept through the entire city.

The famed chain of bakeries conjures up mixed emotions for New Yorkers. Some believe it to be a classic tourist trap, while others will tell you the chocolate banana pudding is worth dealing with tourists in a packed little store.

Magnolia has been around for quite some time and now they are celebrating their birthday by throwing one hell of a party.

For their 20th birthday, Magnolia Bakery will have 1996-priced cupcakes, a birthday cake ice cream whoopie pie, and they even teamed up with Black Tap to create another absurd milkshake.

Does Magnolia Bakery know it's their birthday and not ours?

The famed cupcakes will be going for $1.25 at their Bleecker Street spot until they run out. Magnolia is already packed so you better get there early today.

Whoopie Pies will have a birthday cake frosting on it today. There will also be a birthday cookie that is similar to the whoopie pie that will be covered in festive sprinkles.

Black Tap who is known for mind-blowing milkshakes, is helping celebrate as well. The quickly expanding company is selling a Birthday Shake in both their locations that is an ode to Magnolia's famed baked goods while still adding a Black Tap spin on it.

Magnolia has been around for quite some time and it looks like if they are going anywhere it is to expand. The world famous bakery is still very much part of NYC and we can't wait to see what they do for the big 3-0.
