The L Subway Line Closures to Start... This Monday | spoiled NYC

Ahead of the coming full shutdown of L train service between Manhattan and Brooklyn in 2019, the MTA has announced a series of cleaning and repair service interruptions to start next week.

Beginning on Monday, Aug. 1, the MTA will begin a three-week period of temporary service cancellations to occur during weekday overnight hours, the transit agency stated.

Between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Aug. 1 to 5, Aug. 8 to 12 and Aug. 15 to 19, L service will be suspended between Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction, the MTA stated.

During the service interruptions, the L will continue to operate between Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway and Broadway Junction and between Eighth Avenue and Lorimer Street as free shuttle buses will continue to make all L stops, authorities stated.

The MTA suggested that riders consider using the A or J trains to commute to and from Manhattan via a free transfer at Broadway Junction.

The next planned overnight closures will affect the F and G lines from Sept. 12 to 16 between Bergen Street and Church Avenue.
