This summer, it is literally too hot to do anything else but buy ice cream (or get it for free).
But it's 2016, and if we're going to pay $5.99 for a dessert, it better be cute enough to rack up some likes on Instagram, amirite?
NYC might not have ice cream donuts yet, but the Japanese sweet shop, Ice & Pan, serves Taiyaki– the newest cutest desserts.
Taiyaki, which are traditional fish-shaped cakes, are actually a century old but this updated version is folded into the shape of a cone.
The cakes are hand-baked and lined with either custard, matcha, red bean, or taro.
Then, they are topped with one of their unique soft serve flavors, which include more matcha, hokkaido milk, or charcoal sesame.
You're also given the choice of whatever typical/atypical froyo-like toppings you want. So that means fruit and popcorn... but also yummy treats like mochi and pocky (omg).
The finished products are kawaii AF.

Ice & Pan opened in a market last month at 136-37 Main Street–they serve their signature fishy desserts seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Excuse us, we are literally trekking out to Flushing this very second.
