There’s a silver lining in the big-ass cloud that’s been brewing over in Hudson Yards, but will it balance things out?

You can apply for one of the 169 available (and affordable) units at Manhattan West Towers from now until November 7th, and the monthly rent is as little as $913.

6sqft reported that 435 West 31st Street has 53 studios, 89 one bedrooms, 25 two bedrooms, and two three bedrooms up for grabs. The three bedrooms have a monthly rent of $1,359.

169 affordable apartments sounds pretty great until you realize the building has 844 units total.

Residents of Manhattan Community Board 4 get preference on fifty percent of the units (so, what, 88 and a half?), and the building will feature funky fresh amenities.

We mean that in every sense of the phrase ‘funky fresh.’ A sky lounge, golf simulator, pet spa, arcade, game room, kids playroom, library, lounge, centers for bike repair and storage, and a fitness center. Oh, yeah, there’s laundry facilities too.

We’re all for trying our luck on this lottery, but the odds still seemed stacked against us.
