It's almost summer! That means it's time to ditch your coats and head outside for the summer sun.
At the waterfront, you can experience everything from free newly-released outdoor movies to fishing on the Hudson. I wouldn't suggest grilling your catch though.
Add as many of the events to your schedule before the summer's through!
Here's Hudson River Park's lineup to plan out your summer right. Check out the full list of summer fun activities at the Hudson River Park official website:
Hudson RiverFlicks Movie Series
If you're planning a relaxing Wednesday night, you can watch some new releases at Pier 63. Grab your blanket and the perfect, grassy spot before dusk.
You get 100 percent free flicks and popcorn and beautiful city/river views. Some new movie screenings include La La Land on August 9 and Logan on August 16.
Allow others to hear you belt out your favorite Broadway hit songs from Chicago (July 13) and Mamma Mia! (August 10) at Clinton Cove on 55th St.'s musical screenings. Surround yourself with people, who totally won't judge.
The 18th annual Blues BBQ returns on August 19! Save the day for Dinosaur Bar-B-Que among other saucy eats and your fave blues bands. The highly anticipated lineup includes Campbell Brothers, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, Eric Gales, Terrie Odabi and Dumpstaphunk.
Hudson River Dance Festival
Head to Pier 63 for some beautiful dance performances during this annual modern dance festival. Don't miss impressive dance pieces from some of the best troupes, including National Dance Institute, Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, Wendy Whelan and Brian Brooks and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
Big City Fishing
Bring your kids with you for fishing lessons at the Park starting June 4. The free lessons are super relaxing and totally worth the subway ride.
