What's goin' on everyone? Happy July! Now, why is it happy? Well, for starters, some of you are officially off from school - here's to all of you students and teachers out there 🍻. For the rest of you, July is the month of parties 🎉, especially when you look at the 4th of July, which is definitely coming up soon. 

The summer has officially heated up here in New York, with weather feeling like you're the burning hamburger on that barbecue grill, but nevertheless - we've got some upcoming events that you CAN and SHOULD go to, in our humble opinion. 

Alright, without further ado, here is our guide to how you can enjoy the AWESOME month of July:

Wednesday, July 4th

July 4th La Marina Beach Party: Music, BBQ, Booze, Fireworks! (348 Dyckman Street, Manhattan, @ 3 PM)

Come and celebrate Independence Day in front of the massive waterfront, 75,000 square-foot beach, at La Marina. Overlooking the Hudson River, you get to shake and party with 10-plus hours of music by more than 15 of the hottest artists and DJs. Whatever you want to drink, they got you covered, and barbecue will be available as well!

Friday, July 6th

Literati: A Comedy Show about Books and the Idiots Who Write Them(21 A Cliton Street, New York, @ 9 PM)

Looking to kick off your summer with some laughter?

Literati is a night of comedians performing hilarious readings. Hosts Colin O’Briend (JFL New Faces and Michael Wolf, Comedy Central) will read between the lines and share the fun and love of literature with you. Joe Pera (Adult Swim), Eudora Peterson, Steven Markow, Lucy Cottrell, Rachel Pegram will also be there!

Diverse Musical Lineup (Richard Tucker Park at Broadway and 66th, @ 2 PM)

The Lincoln Square Business Improvement District (BID) is collaborating with the MTA Arts & Design’s Music Under New York (MTA MUSIC) every wednesday for free lunchtime entertainment to the Lincoln Square area. It’s going to be filled with a cultural and musical scene, genres from classic rock to dance, and country to jazz. In addition, everyone could enjoy and heal their body with free and gentle restorative yoga sessions between performances.

Come and grab lunch at Richard Tucker Park and enjoy NYC’s underground live music and summer sunshine.

Brooklyn’s HOT SUMMER NIGHTS! Free outdoor Concert Series (Kingsborough)


Looking for a perfect Saturday evening nearby Brighton Beach or Coney Island?

Brooklyn’s On Stage at Kingsborough presents its 2018 HOT Summer Nights, featuring free concerts under the stars every Saturday night this July. On July 7th, you could continue your Independence Day celebration with Duchess with their performance “Boogie Woogie Independence Day!” July 14th, dance along with hottest groups on the international swing scene, as Professor Cunningham & His Old School present “Swing It Out!” On July 21st, Jumaane Smith will perform “LOUIS! LOUIS! LOUIS!” On July 28th, Jason Prover’s Sneak Thievery Orchestra will bring life hits of the Roaring Twenties in “Everything Old is New Again!”
