We all know that pizza and New York City go hand in hand.

So you can imagine how we felt when one of our favorite game changing restaurants announced an NYC opening coming soon!

Owners Emily and Matt Hyland of hit Brooklyn pizzerias, Emily and Emmy Squared, are taking over Manhattan by opening their Detroit-style pizza restaurant titled….well...Emmy Squared.

The new chow down area is at 35 Downing St. Currently it still belongs to the Blue Ribbon Bakery Kitchen, but the kitchen will be closing at the end of January.

We’re very excited, since we raved about Emmy Squared opening before, and their menu is just...unf. Delicious isn’t the right word.

According to Eater NY, there’s no word yet on the menu at the new Emmy Squared. It will be different from the original, but fans (aka us) are hoping for favorites such as the Emmy pizza with mozzarella, banana peppers, onions, and ranch.

Even more so, a reappearance or alternate version of Matt Hyland’s popular burger.

Emmy is known for using a gas-fired convection oven at the Brooklyn establishment, but they are more likely to inherit Bakery’s wood fire oven, which may also be a factor in the menu choices.

So we can’t wait to make many, many stops to the new place when it opens. It better have a good burger though, we’re just saying.
