Talk about fulfilling your childhood wishes. This winter, NYLO hotel is making all your Wonka-themed dreams come true with an adult twist.
Their bar, LOCL, at 2178 Broadway (at 77th Street), is bringing the Roald Dahl classic to life by creating a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory-themed holiday pop-up, the Holiday Factory.
If you have always wanted to be a part of that world, these inspired drinks will definitely appeal to your inner child while allowing you to still feel like an adult… sort of.
The bar is open until February 1 and they have a ton to offer.
When you first walk in, you’re immediately greeted by candy decorations. Think candy cane handrails and giant lollipops that would make even Dylan’s Candy Bar gawk. They also have a Champagne bubble room, no doubt inspired by the famous scene in the movie where Charlie and his grandpa drink the soda that makes them fly, and even a sweets shop in the library.
And then there are the drinks. Remember those drinks served in snow globes that you kept seeing all over Instagram last year? Well the genius behind them, Cody Goldstein, is bringing equally as fantastic hits.
The most buzzworthy drink is served in a gumball machine and aptly named Goodie Goodie Gumballs made with Codigo 1530 Tequila, St. Germaine, bitter lemon, white cranberry and, you guessed it, gumballs. And if that isn’t enough to sway you, it’s only $17, aka slightly more than a regular old cocktail at a normal bar.
Other options include Violet You're Turning Violet, Snozzberries Taste Like Snozzberries, and Fizzy Lifting Drink. Plus $1 from every cocktail will be donated to Save the Children, so when you help others, you’re also helping yourself.
Honestly, we don’t know how this isn’t all over our newsfeeds already, but we are definitely going to hit it up before it blows up.
