The Astor Place Cube was expected to return in the spring of 2016.
We're officially in the midst of spring, yet, we still have no cube.
Fortunately, rumor has it that the Alamo (aka the Astor Place Cube) is presumably making its grand return next month.
A spokesperson told Curbed, "We anticipate the cube to be installed next month."
Finally, after being removed almost a year ago due to construction on Astor Place and Cooper Square, we could look forward to seeing the cube in its original place of glory.
However, we're sort of hoping that no one goes so far as to emulate the cube as their Halloween costume like this fellow did in 2015.

Regardless, we'll look forward to seeing a light at the end of the construction tunnel that has shut down Peter Cooper Park.
