Under the Panoramic Heat Dome: 7 Best Things to Do This Weekend Instead of Melting

This weekend's gonna be a scorcher. Not just because of the insane heat dome of doom that's going to envelop New York City in hella hot temperatures this weekend, but also because this weekend is jam packed with lit events.

Plus, National Tequila Day is this Sunday. Any weekend that celebrates one of the most dangerous of hard liquors is bound to be bouncin' all day and night.

From Panorama Fest to bar crawls galore, you definitely can't let FOMO get the best of you this weekend.

Pack up your portable water bottle, slap on some sunscreen, and hit those hot as all hell streets. At the very least try to cook an egg on the sidewalk. You gotta do it for, y'know, science.

But if you're up for more than just cooking a street egg, hit up any of the dope events below.

Friday, July 22nd

1. Panorama

We've been talking about Panorama for weeks now. In case you somehow haven't heard of it, Panorama is NYC's take on Coachella - from the actual creators of Coachella.

The music lineup includes the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Sia, ASAP Rocky, and DJ Khaled, just to name a few. Plus, the food lineup is just as incredible.

Panorama runs all weekend long, from Friday the 22nd until Sunday the 24th, so it goes without saying that Panorama is this weekends major key.

2. Blacklight Run

More into aesthetics than actual running? This is the run for you. The Blacklight Run is a three-mile run that starts at 9 p.m in Brooklyn, and ends with you covered in UV neon glow powder.

Finishing the race grants you access to the Blacklight Run After Party, where you'll shine bright in all of your glowing colors, and snag a whole bunch of free swags. Tickets are still available for this once in a lifetime run, so get yours here, before it's too late.

3. Lincoln Center Block Party

lincolncenter

If you're all about dance, or all about block parties, this is the event for you. Even better, it's also free! Kicking off at 11 a.m, this massive block party outside of Lincoln Center will feature Philadelphia dance collective, Illstyle & Peace Productions.

They'll be leading one of the coolest dance parties around, and they'll be exploring every kind of dance. Dust off your childhood tap shoes, and dance your heart out in the heart of Lincoln Center.

4. NYC Pokemon Go Bar Crawls

Alright, PokeMasters, this is the event for you. Not only are there one, but two(!), Pokemon Go bar crawls going down this Saturday night. What a time to be alive, am I right?

The first bar crawl kicks off in Greenpoint in Brooklyn at Spritzenhaus, which is conveniently located next to a Pokemon Gym, at 1 p.m, for all of you early drinkers out there. From there, this bar crawl will take you all throughout Northern Brooklyn, drinking the afternoon away with your fellow trainers.

The second bar crawl is for those who do their best Pokemon catching in the evening hours, starting at the Barcade in Williamsburg at 7 p.m. This bar crawl travels along Metropolitan Ave, and finishes off on North 3rd Street at 10 p.m.

Both bar crawls feature giveaways, contests, and plenty of opportunities to meet new Pokemon Go players. Bond with your fellow players at one, or both of these bar crawls, who knows who you'll meet!

July 24th
