6 Amazing Concerts You Need to Check Out This Month

We know that good food and drinks are important, but so is the atmosphere in which you enjoy them.

And because we know that so well, we like to tell you guys about some of the coolest places to have delicious food and drinks in the city. 

But let's be honest, one of the absolute best places to eat and drink what you love is at a concert listening to the best music around. 

So naturally, we're hooking you up yet again with a dope list of concerts/ events you might want to go to this month, if you don't have tickets already. 

Take note, and we hope you can get to at least one before August ends! 


1. Nuyorican Poets Cafe ft. Sarah Kay (August 9th)

So poetry isn't necessarily classified as music, but it can certainly be melodic AF, so it counts. Especially when it's spoken word poetry.

This Wednesday at the East River Park around 7 p.m. will be a small yet powerful event featuring three super talented women who will surely mesmerize you with their words. Don't believe me? Fine. See for yourself in 2 days. 


2. Strawberry Fields- A Tribute to The Beatles (August 12th)

This beautiful event will memorialize The Beatles and the impact they had on the world with their music. On Saturday at 12 noon, the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill will be hosting an ultimate Beatles brunch!

Strawberry Fields is a tribute band that not only sounds like The Beatles, but looks like them too. If you're a fan, then you gotta check out this Saturday afternoon event, coming up this weekend! Get your tickets here


3. Khalid (August 12th)


HELLL YEAHHHH, this is going to be such an amazing show. If you haven't heard Khalid yet, you really are missing out on such a brilliantly talented young man. His melody is intoxicating, and he's performing at the East River Park this Saturday! 

This FREE show will be from 5- 7 p.m., so you can listen to the smooth sounds of Khalid, while the evening approaches. Maybe even plan a picnic! 


4. Quiet Clubbing (August 18th)

This silent concert party is going to be BOOMING and we absolutely cannot wait, as evident by how many times we've told you about it. So please, LISTEN THIS TIME!!! It's for your own good, after all. 

But anyway, yes! The party cruise curtesy of CircleLine cruises will leave from Pier 83 around 8 p.m., next Friday. You can get your tickets here for the event, and the dress is casual AF, but obvi look cute. 


5. Billboard Hot 100 (August 19th)

Attention all pop music listeners, the Billboard Hot 100 is coming up! This concert features some of the most popular names in music from Big Sean to Demi Lovato to We The Kings.

Coming to Jones Beach Theater in a couple weeks, this event offers different types of ticket passes, so make sure you check here for prices if you want to go! Hurry up and make sure you tell your friendzzz. 


6. Afropunk (August 26th)  


Alright guys, we've been hyped for this one even before we told you about it in the beginning of August. And now that we're almost into the second week of this month, you need to hear about Afropunk again, just in case you forgot. 

This iconic festival has taken the world by storm, and it'll grace us in Brooklyn on Saturday, August 26th. There will be food, drinks, art, and music, of course. So if you still haven't gotten your ticket yet, now is the time!
