The New York City skyline is one of the most famous views in the world. With the addition of a wild amount of new super tall skyscrapers on their way to the City, some people are concerned we'll not be giving our traditional landmarks the shine they deserve.
But not if LEGO will have anything to do with it.
Hitting the shelves early January 2016, LEGO announced today the five iconic NYC landmarks they'll be making toy versions of.
The Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Chrysler Building, Flatiron Building, and surprisingly-- One World Trade Center --will soon be LEGO sets.
While some people are shocked by the exclusion of the Woolworth Building, but it seems the classic may have been axed in favor of the newly iconic One World Trade Center.
Sure, One World Trade isn't exactly a long standing member of the NYC skyline elite, but it does hold special value to New Yorkers and people around the world.
A LEGO representative recently said in a statement that structures chosen for the series are meant to "capture the architectural essence of NYC."
Of course the Statue of Liberty is about as iconically NYC as you can get, but what might they have missed besides the Woolworth Building?
What about the Brooklyn Bridge, or maybe the Guggenheim? Surely not the new Mark Foster Gage-designed 102-story skyscraper planned for 57th Street. What do you think they should have included?
