When you're heading into the New Year, it's important you to do with a clear mind, without holding onto the past year's negative memories, right?
So maybe your New Year's resolution is to finally get over your ex, to finally accept the loss of someone you loved, or to finally get over that terrible thing someone said to you.
What if we told you there was a collaborative, tangible way to discard your past year's baggage, that you could participate in this positive, healing, community event?
Well it's true. It's called Good Riddance Day, and it's happening in Times Square on December 28th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Anyone, and we mean anyone, can stop by Times Square during Good Riddance Day's hour, with an object that represents a negative memory, a memory you'll be able to get rid of once and for all.
What will you do with the object that represents that negative energy? Well, you'll be able to use a mallet and a mobile shredding truck to destroy it, once and for all. We can tell you, it's going to feel very, very healing to get that negative memory off your back; physically and symbolically.
Once you've symbolically shredded the memory you wrote down about that mean thing someone said, or you took a mallet to a picture frame that you smashed to pieces, you'll be relieved of the negative memory. You'll float into the New Year free of baggage and negative emotional weight.

adam1marsh Good riddance for 2014. Here's to happier days and a GREAT 2015. Bring it on.... #goodriddanceday #goodbye2014 #welcome2015 #HappyDaysAhead #dontlookback
This event is inspired by a Latin American tradition in which New Year's revelers symbolically stuffed dolls with objects that represented bad memories. Then, they set the objects on fire.
That also sounds pretty therapeutic, doesn't it?
So do it, why don't you? Get rid of the memory that's been dragging you down. All you have to do is bring an object associated toe memory to Times Square on December 28th at 12 p.m. We'll see you there, since we know we've got some baggage that could use shredding.
