The holidays are coming. Scratch that. They're here. That can mean only one thing. We know what you're thinking, and no, it doesn't mean giving and receiving gifts.

We mean, giving and receiving gifts is a really excellent part of the season, as is making and eating really delicious food, but we all know what the holidays are really about.

We might as well acknowledge the truth about the situation: the holidays are all about getting drunk.

Let's talk on the real for a second: there are thousands of great bars in this city. How could you possibly decide which bars to get drunk in?

We have an idea. There are all these holiday crawls where experts have curated a route that will accomplish all the holiday drinking you desire. Read on to find out what, where, and when they are.

1. Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl (98 3rd Avenue)

You've got a sweater knitted from some family member, don't you? Well, it's getting colder and colder out, and this is the perfect excuse to hit the bars wearing that wooly, comfy thing.

You'll be warm. You won't necessarily be stylish, but you'll fit in, and you'll also get to take part in drink specials at your favorite bars. There will be beer, cocktails, and basically all the drinks you could want. Also, we heard a rumor that Rudolph would be there, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

Here's what we do know for sure. You'll get to pound craft beers for $2 or $3 a pop, which, in our expensive city is quite the deal indeed. You'll also get half-off mixed well cocktails from some of the most popping bars in the East Village.

2. Shots for Tots Bar Crawl (205 1st Street - Hoboken, NJ)

Want to day drink in Hoboken? We have the best idea if that's how you'd like to spend your Saturday. It'll be on Saturday, December 5th from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Better news? Well, this bar crawl's proceeds benefit the homeless youth at the Covenant House. Last year it raised $1,500 and was able to donate 100 gifts. This year, come get drunk and help top last year's amount.

Every participant, before getting completely smashed, should bring an unwrapped gifts in addition to the small donation (ticket price) that includes a custom wristband for all day drink specials at the participating bars. Also, some of the bars will have giveaways, which is pretty excellent.

You're encouraged to wear ugly sweaters, reindeer antlers, Santa hats, and other holiday cheer clothing items. Are you down to clown? If so, sign up here.

3. SantaCon (various locations)

You've heard about SantaCon, haven't you? It's basically the most famous bar crawl on this side of the Mississippi. 

It's happening on December 12th, and the town is about to get painted red and white. If you want to participate, all you've really got to do is get yourself a Santa hat (or just walk the route, there are bound to be dozens littered along the streets) and get prepared for mayhem in Midtown.

There's a photo contest in which contestants who post the most beautiful, funny, or magical photo to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #SantaContestNYC before midnight on December 6th will receive all-access wristbands for 10 friends (along with other goodies) for this year's SantaCon.

Everyone will be day drinking. Everyone will be getting wild. You should probably be a part of it just to say you did it, right? The route will be posted here on the night of December 11th.

4. 12 Bars of Christmas (56 Greenwich Avenue)

We are way on board with the premise of this bar crawl. Aren't you? Doesn't it just make sense that since there are technically 12 nights of Christmas, you would technically crawl to 12 bars?

We mean it. You'll really end up crawling-- 12 bars are a lot of bars to drink in, so you'll leave this crawl sufficiently full of booze and holiday cheer.

If you take part in this crawl, you'll receive a fashionable red Santa hat and an excellent commemorative beer mug. The best part is that 100% of this crawl's proceeds are dedicated to the Food Bank of NYC. This crawl's raised an average of $12,000 per year for the last four years.

5. Hanukah Bar Crawl 2015 (Hoboken, NJ)
