Most everybody you see on the street in New York City is listening to music while they're on the move. In the subway, on the block, we're consuming music so constantly that we actually almost get hit by cars, as a generation, on a regular basis.
Because we love music so much, we're going to be running down a weekly list of "What We're Listening To.”
It's exactly what it sounds like: what we have on our most recent playlists, what's intriguing us, and, simply, what music we're about right now.
It's not any particular genre, in fact it covers a wide variety of sounds-- this week from dance music, NYC hardstyle funk, a garage rock band with 60s pop hooks, and some good-ass R&B. There is, of course, the always controversial M.I.A. and Stone Temple Pilots in honor of Scott Weiland's passing.

5. A$AP TyY - "Owell"
A$AP Mob's TyY takes you onto the playgrounds of Harlem in his new, seriously weird video for the track "Owell."
6. Cousin Earth - Cousin Earth
Following a packed out record release show with Future Folk at Bowery Electric, Brooklyn progressive ukulele band Cousin Earth's self-titled debut album is out now.

Toronto-based alternative R&B/underground hip-hop producers Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman are known as Majid Jordan when they produce for other artists.
8. Strange Faces - Stonerism
Chicago-based Strange Faces, a shoot off of Twin Peaks, just dropped a fuzzy record with plenty of pop appeal while remaining definitely a garage rock band, with surfy twists here and there.
