When was the last time you had a really swingin' Sunday?
Not just a Sunday Funday where you inevitably drink from the time you wake up until the time you start hating the coming Monday morning. We're talkin' certifiably, bona fide swingin'.
Oh, it's been that long?
Well, get ready, New York City, because this holiday season the New York Transit Museum is bringing back its 1930s subway cars for some free holiday rides.
Each Sunday this month, the "Shoppers Special" trains will make five departures from the Second Avenue F station, making local stops to Queens Plaza. The museum will be open a pop-up souvenir shop as well.
Thankfully, we're getting a good look at all of this throwback transit, and there's more to come. In addition to these trains, Union Square, Herald Square, and Circle Line Terminal will also be displaying vintage buses that'll run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday until December 18th.

Unlike the summer nostalgia rides that feel so long ago, these rides are free with your MetroCard swipe. These throwback trains will run December 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th heading out from the Second Avenue F line at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m.
It'll head back from Queens Plaza on the M line at 10:45 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:15 p.m., and 4:45 p.m.
All of this sounds great, right? Nothing flashy, not trying too hard with something that'll inevitably disappoint you, right? Wrong.
Like we said, these run-of-the-mill, get-you-from-point-A-to-point-B trips are free with your MetroCard. But Sundays, if you're lookin' for a really swingin' time, dig a little deeper for the twenty bucks that'll get you on the "Subway Swing."
December 13th, leaving from the Second Avenue station at 5:30 p.m., these vintage subway cars will take you straight to the Transit Museum's home, a decommissioned subway station in downtown Brooklyn complete with swing dancing and jazz.
Last year's party was supposedly bonkers, but you'll have to check that out for yourselves this year.
