There are two distinct truisms in American culture right now: We're all completely fed up with ISIS and its fear-mongering, and we're all completely stoked for the new Star Wars movie.
These two cultural sentiments would seem at odds with each other, right? Especially in the holiday season. Nothing like a bit of terrorism and intergalactic warfare to get you in the gift-giving, put-up-with-in-laws mood, right?!
Of course, if there's any city that can beautifully intertwine the two into the same global message, it's New York City, and if there's any one group of people that can illustrate the merging of these two sentiments into cohesion, it's our graffiti artists.
Renegade street artist, known only as VEW, did just that to one of NYC's subways.
Fed up with their "ass-backwards" ideology, VEW took to the underground to fire a shot in what he believes is a propaganda war that the U.S. simply hasn't done much with.
"Their ideology is ass-backwards and dangerous to the world," the twenty-something artist told Ratter. "It's counterproductive to the human race."
The mural is located at an off-limits platform that was used by the NYPD for their highly-publicized "terror drill" last week, sending a message of solidarity in the aftermath of the attacks in Paris; a more proactive message than the NYPD seems prepared to send right now.
The message itself is a little NSFW, so check out the video of its creation below. If there's anyone we want to enlist for a propaganda war on the streets of NYC, it's definitely graffiti artists.
