New York City is paving the way towards greater overall health by beginning to include salt shaker images next to especially salty items on fast food menus.
Kind of like the little pepper next to the spicy items on Chinese food menus, these little pics will essentially warn you of what you're about to put into your body.
The new Board of Health requirement goes into effect on Tuesday, December 1st.
The idea is not to restrict salty foods like oversized soda cups, but rather to inform consumers when they're going to be consuming high levels of sodium.
Many New Yorkers don't seem to mind the additional information, as it is definitely helpful when managing a myriad of health issues including diabetes, high blood pressure, as well as general good health.
Take a look at the report below from ABC 7, where they ask New Yorkers on the street about the new health measures. And stay salty, New York.
