Are you really that surprised that in New York City-- the city in which an apartment once sold for $100 million --there'd be a $45,000 Thanksgiving dinner for sale?

Yeah, we're not that surprised either. However, this offer isn't as perishable as you think. What we mean is, dinner is temporary, and diamonds are forever.

That's right. One NYC steakhouse is offering a Thanksgiving dinner package that includes a diamond engagement ring.

What steakhouse would make such a preposterous, yet strangely tempting offer?

Well, none other than the 147-year-old Old Homestead Steakhouse, of course.

"Thanksgiving weekend kicks off the proposal season that runs until Valentine's Day," Marc Sherry, Old Homestead's owner, told ABC News

"Anyone can get engaged on Valentine's Day, but not many can do it with turkey and stuffing."

We know what you're probably wondering: who would ever pay that much for Thanksgiving dinner, even if it does come with a diamond ring?

Let us assure you, there are people willing to do this. Three parties purchased Old Homestead's $35,000 feast last year, so Sherry decided to raise the stakes (steaks) by throwing a 2-carat emerald-cut diamond ring into the mix.

"It's like getting engaged on the mount at Yankees Stadium or the top of the Empire State Building, something really different," Sherry said.

What else will the meal include, besides a ring?

For this feast, your $45,000 will include seven courses of traditional Thanksgiving food: turkey, mashed and sweet potatoes, cranberries, gravy, but there will also be several expensive twists; twists like caviar valued at around $1,600 per ounce, and a $4,900 bottle of bourbon.

The $45,000 also includes tickets to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a $7,500 Black Friday shopping spree at Bergdorf Goodman, and two nights at the Waldorf Astoria, plus, a limousine to escort your everywhere.

You'll also get a videographer to record the proposal.

Sherry's hoping to book the package by next week, but said he already has two "serious inquiries."

You could also be way more... how should we put this? Normal? Yes, there's also the option of sitting in on a more traditional meal at Old Homestead's main restaurant and pay $65 per seat for Thanksgiving dinner.

So where will the $45,000 party sit?

"When you spend $45,000, you can have it where you want," Sherry said. "You're the boss at $45,000, but we do have a private room ready for the party."

Interested? Well, then we can't relate at all, but we guess if you're interested you should contact Old Homestead here.
