Israeli entrepreneur Eiran Gazit has something of a miniature obsession.
He commissioned the Mini Israel Park in Israel's Ayalon Valley, and is bringing his tiny love affair to Times Square in 2017.
Called "Gulliver's Gate," Gazit is bringing tiny, scaled, interactive models of everywhere, like Rome and Manhattan, to NYC's epicenter.
The name is a reference to one of the islands populated by tiny people in Jonathan Swift's famously false "traveller's tale" that paved the way for prose satire for centuries to come, Gulliver's Travels.
The project will integrate smart phone apps, remote controls, and other gizmos to engage visitors and allow them to control the attraction's movable parts.
So take a look at the introduction to Gulliver's Gate below, laying out some of the cool miniature everything they're putting together. It's kind of a model-builder's dreamscape.
