Because It's Getting Cold and Dark Outside, You Can Now Check Out Any NYC Apartment--Live from Your Phone!

It’s hard to make it in New York City, but people talk about doing it all the time. Hell, they leave small towns in the middle of nowhere just to try.

Unfortunately, we don't have the definitive guide on how to make it big in this city, but we definitely found an app that can help you along the way.

We first told you about 'em a few months ago. Oliver. You know the name, and if you don't, here's the deal.

Oliver is all you’re going to need to find an apartment when your lease is about to be up, or when you’re tired of stepping into apartment puddles that are nowhere near your bathroom floor.

Oliver is a parrot (in the form of an app) that helps you rent an apartment seamlessly without a broker.

It's all about transparency and convenience, especially when this city ain't. Every real New Yorker knows that this town will run you ragged, shake you in the cold, and rob you blind. (We're looking at you, brokers!)

Who really has time to find the apartment that they need, right? Right. Too often, we settle for the first 2x4 box that's just within our price range.

But no more.

That's right, Oliver is about the change the game when it comes to New York City apartment rentals. Again. How, you might ask? Two words.

Remote. Viewings.

With this newest feature (seriously, check out the video below), you can scope out live viewings of apartments you actually want to rent-- right from your apartment or office. Or wherever you have your smartphone. (Which is everywhere and anywhere, at all times, but who are we to judge?)

So no, you don’t have to use your lunch break to scurry off to an apartment showing that's 20 minutes away anymore.

And what's that? You have a friend who’s trying to make it to this city, but hasn’t even made it out of some small farm town yet? Well, you just saved them, big-time. Because even those soon-to-be-NYC-transplants can view this city's apartments-- from wherever they want-- as long as they have this app.

But wait, can we talk about this NYC winter that's about to hit us all in the face like a ton of bricks? (Because we all know 70 degree days in November won't last forever.)

With this app, you don’t even have to think about putting a coat on (unless your apartment doesn’t have heat. Then you definitely need a coat). You just need a smartphone. It's really that simple.
