Target, also known as Targeé or "Fancy Walmart," will open its first location in Lower Manhattan next year, as part of its expansion into more urban markets.

Lots of people enjoy the East Harlem storefront, which is about as big as a normal Target gets.

However, the Lower Manhattan location at 255 Greenwich Street will weigh in at 48,242 square feet, significantly smaller than the Target format most shoppers are used to. 

Despite the "fun-sized" format, office workers and neighborhood residents are expected to utilize Target for the same reasons they'd go to another store. 

The main difference-- besides its size-- between this Lower Manhattan location and all others is the type of products they'll sell. 

Instead of large bulk packages of multiple items, this Target location is supposed to carry individual items with minimal and transit-friendly packaging. 

For example, instead of a 12-pack of paper towels, you're likely find individual rolls for sale at this Lower Manhattan version ofTarget.

Also, this new "flexible format" location will sport products for smaller-living spaces which you would find on the norm here in New York City.

The new Target is due in October of 2016, and will be just a few steps away from the World Trade Center complex, which will also have its own shopping center. 

So yeah, get ready for a downtown shopping spree that won't break the bank. Hopefully?
