If one thing is certain in these most uncertain of times, it's that New York City has responded to the Parisian terrorist attacks like world-class leaders.
Since Friday night, One World Trade Center's spire has been lit in blue, white, and red, The Empire State Building has gone dark at 10 p.m., and there was an impromptu vigil staged in Union Square Park on Friday.
That being said, many were curious as to how Saturday Night Live would address Friday evening's deadly Paris terrorist attacks, and to no one's surprise, they delivered with a touching introduction.
Instead of its usual comedic opening sketch, the NBC show decided to begin on a somber note with a memorable opening by Cecily Strong.
“Paris is the city of light, and here in New York City, we know that light will never go out,” she stated just one night after the attacks. “Our love and support is with everyone there tonight. We stand with you.”
Strong then repeated the same message in French, before starting the show with the usual, “And now, live from New York, it’s Saturday night.”
