Earlier this year, we informed you about the eagerly anticipated re-opening of the Highbridge, a pedestrian bridge connecting Manhattan and the Bronx.

Well, the second car-free crossing between the two boroughs officially opened just yesterday, and it's called the Randall's Island Connector. 

As StreetFilms stated, "This project has been in the pipeline for what seems forever, but the nonetheless it is finished and open to the delight of many South Bronx residents who have a direct and easy connection to Randall's Island and all of its athletic fields, picnic tables, miles of beautiful greenways and unmatched views of the Manhattan skyline."
