Queens meets the Bronx in this new Paul Simon/Dion duet, and it's pretty amazing. 

For all of the kiddies, Paul Simon, from Queens, was mostly known as one half of the pop-culturally iconic duo, Simon & Garfunkel, who suffered a bitter breakup in 1970. Then the world realized that Simon was the talented one, so it wasn't too upsetting. 

Dion, is well, Dion. Bronx native, whose full name is actually Dion DiMucci, has been recording incredible doo-wop, R&B, and rock since the 60s. Look him up. He's more than worth knowing. 

An unlikely pairing? An incomprehensible mashup of conflicting styles? No, this'll never work! 

Yeah, you'd like to think so. 

But "New York Is My Home" is just about everything beautiful about any music that's ever come out of New York City. 

It's a perfect dedication to the romance and mystery of the city we discover on a daily basis; finding comfort in the idea that this city isn't quite large enough to lose yourself completely. As long as you're home in NYC, you're not alone, and it's long, long overdue.

Where on Earth have you been, guys? 

Well, the simple answer is, uh, simple: the last time we saw Paul Simon and Dion together was back in 2009 when they performed Dion's 1961 hit classic, "The Wanderer" at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concert. 

But their perfectly harmonious relationship (much like the best elements of this song) started long before now.

Dion drew inspiration from Paul Simon's momentous concert with Art Garfunkel in Central Park, the live recording of which is easily one of the best moments in NYC music history. 

"When I wrote 'New York Is My Home," I thought this is a way for New Yorkers to fall in love with their city all over again," Dion told Rolling Stone. And it is. 

The song itself is an inspiring collaboration. Dion has a classically funky style to him. You'd expect anything he does to have a doo-wop swagger to it, but that style is noticeably withheld to make room for the nostalgic tonality present in both the lyrics and Paul Simon's folky harmonies. 

The end result is beautiful, and it certainly achieves the inspirational note Dion'd hoped to strike. Check out the video below. And if you've never heard of either of these guys, check them out too because... well, they're Hall of Famers if nothing else.
