Most everybody in New York City has heard of our dear new de facto mascot, the Pizza Rat. Yes, there was even a guy who recently dedicated a good portion of his leg to his undying affection for the hungry rodent with this permanent, real-life tattoo.
Sure, there's competition, like Milkshake Squirrel and Pizza Raccoon, but neither of them seem to tickle the collective NYC imagination as much as our fair Pizza Rat does, and there's proof.
Justin, from the YouTube channel PrankVsPrank devised a new trick for punking all of NYC: a fake pizza rat on a remote controlled car chassis, driving around freaking people out.

Yes, it seems from the footage that people are as excited to see Pizza Rat as they would be Santa, and that might seem a little strange to the casual non-New Yorker.
There aren't many ways you can prank every single New Yorker you see with one schtick, but this is definitely one of them!
