It's been unseasonably warm for us here in NYC. That just means you can put up your holiday lights without contracting third degree frostbite. Heck, you'll probably even break a sweat!
And after your lights are up (but kept off until after Thanksgiving, thank you very much), you'll want to treat yourself.
It's times like these where we're thankful for a good ol' sundae.
Especially when those sundaes are either fall-flavored or the best take on the traditional hot fudge sundae.
There's something so perfect about the combination of ice cream, sweet syrups, fruit, nuts, whipped cream, and (of course we cannot forget) the cherry.
These sundaes are mounds of delicious dairy glory. If you're feeling down today, these 8 sundaes will definitely cheer you up.
1. Spice of Life from Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain (513 Henry Street - Brooklyn)
Pretty much every single one of Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain's 18 unique sundaes are absolutely out of this world.
We're having a hard time picking our favorite. Since it is almost the holidays, we're lovin' the "Spice of Life." It's got a warm honey cake drenched in New Orleans spiced mead syrup, beneath vanilla ice cream topped with hot caramel sauce, crushed pecans, and whipped cream dusted with cinnamon.
If you want unique, you have to try "The Elvis." It's banana chocolate chip ice cream with Farmacy's peanut butter and warm caramel sauce, topped with whipped cream and homemade bacon bits. That's not all. It's served with a pickle.
2. The Gobbler from Big Gay Ice Cream Shop (various locations)

We're pretty obsessed with how creative the guys are over at the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. Their sundaes change with the seasons, as do their flavors. While their "Salty Pimp" is usually our go-to, we have to give them credit for "The Gobbler."
This sundae has vanilla soft serve, either pumpkin butter & maple syrup or apple butter & bourbon butterscotch, pie pieces, and a mountain of whipped cream. You'll be in the holiday spirit in no time.
3. Belgian Waffle Sundae from Egger's Ice Cream Shop (1194 Forest Avenue- Staten Island)
Waffles and ice cream pretty much goes together hand in hand, if waffles and ice cream had hands. They're like peanut butter and jelly, you can have both alone, but together, they're magical.
At Egger's Ice Cream Shop, you can have a "Belgian Waffle Sundae" for $6.49, with a scoop of their 16 different ice creams with one of their 16 toppings and whipped cream. You can have it with two scoops for $2 more.
4. Forbidden Broadway Sundae from Serendipity 3 (225 East 60th Street)
In the past few years, Serendipity has increased dramatically in popularity due to their "Frozen Hot Chocolate," and their "Golden Opulence Sundae," which is truly an incredible sundae that pretty much no New Yorker can afford so it's not listed on this list, but is on this one of crazy desserts.
Instead of dishing out $1,000 for a sundae, we're recommending the less lavish, but darn delicious "Forbidden Broadway Sundae," with chocolate Blackout cake, ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream. It's not a Guinness world record sundae, but it's delicious.
,5. Banana Royal Sundae from Eddie's Sweet Shop (105-29 Metropolitan Avenue - Queens)

If you're going to Eddie's Sweet Shop, make sure you bring your appetite. This sundae is so large that we wouldn't be able to eat it alone without enduring massive brain freeze.
The "Banana Royal Sundae" comes with three scoops of ice cream on top of sliced bananas, fresh whipped cream, sprinkles, dry nuts, and a cherry.
6. The "Caramel" Apple from Big Daddy's (various locations)

We're really feeling festive, with the holidays right around the corner and all. And since it's 70 degrees, we're craving this fall flavored ice cream sundae from Big Daddy's.
"The 'Caramel' Apple" comes with a big slice of apple pie, vanilla ice cream, hot caramel sauce, and whipped cream. It's basically apple pie a la mode taken to the next level. We're fans.
7. Sprinkles Sundae from Sprinkles Ice Cream Shop (780 Lexington Avenue)
What's better than an ice cream sundae? An ice cream sundae AND a delicious cupcake. At Sprinkles Ice Cream Shop, you don't have to choose which dessert favorite. You can combine them!
The "Sprinkles Sundae" consists of a scoop of ice cream between a cupcake that's been cut in half. It's almost like an ice cream sandwich with a cupcake, but that'd be insane to eat, so it's a sundae instead.
8. Salted Caramel Pretzel Sundae from Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream (2 Rivington Street)
This LES ice cream spot makes incredibly unique ice cream flavors. Their sundaes are just as creative.
If you're a fan of the salty sweet desserts, you'll love the "Salted Caramel Pretzel." It is salted caramel ice cream with caramel cakes, pretzel crunch, caramel sauce and whipped cream.
