With everything that happens in New York City in November, you're probably dreading the coming onslaught of tourists crowding our streets.
Along with the zombified hoards of tourists taking pictures of the Rockefeller Center Tree or slowing down traffic on Broadway, we have the extreme cold to look forward to.
Were sure you're probably planning on hibernating until 2016.
Don't fret, New Yorkers! There's plenty of delicious reasons to leave your apartment for sustenance and (potentially) socialization in November.
First and foremost, it's the month of America's favorite foodie holiday: Thanksgiving.
With many of our families separated throughout the country, it's the perfect time to get together for a "Friendsgiving."
Even better, many restaurants are embracing the season's flavors and creating excellent meals that will warm you from within.
Because, c'mon, New Yorkers, it's just too early to lock yourself inside and watch Miracle on 39th Street on repeat.
Here are the restaurants you just have to try this month!
1. Edi & The Wolf (102 Avenue C)
If you're not feeling like cooking for Thanksgiving, Edi & The Wolf has an excellent three course meal with a germanic twist for the holiday.
But since many of us will be dining elsewhere for Thanksgiving, we recommend hitting up Edi & The Wolf any other night of the month.

Their menu alters with the season, and we have to say we love germanic food when the weather gets colder.
We recommend their "Braised Short Ribs," with soubise (an onion sauce like a Bechamel), white sweet potato, and radicchio. We're also digging their "Wiener Schnitzel" with potato salad, cucumber salad, and lingonberry jam.
2. Momofuku Milk Bar (various locations)
eaudeamaranthine It's Baaack! For one month only. Nab a stuffing-flavoured #Thanksgiving #Croissant filled with #turkey and cranberry sauce from #Momofuku #MilkBar while you can. #pipinghot #nom #foodporn #pastry #nyceats #momofukumilkbar #milkbarmidtown @milkbarstore
If you want more of the traditional Thanksgiving mash up, you have to try Momofuku Milk Bar's "Thanksgiving Croissant."
This Thanksgiving meal in a croissant will definitely jump start your holiday season.
The croissant is made with celery-salt, thyme, and pepper in the dough, then wrapped around turkey, cranberry sauce, and gravy. But you better hurry, they only make 300 at each location per day.
3. Root & Bone (200 East 3rd Street)
shutheforkup Whatchu know bout fried chicken 🍖 #food #foodie #friedchicken #chicken #comfortfood #southernfood #southerncooking #rootandbone #les #lowereastside #nyc #nycfood #nycfoodie #newyorkcity #manhattan #eeeats #cityeats #nyceats #foodporn #nycfoodgals #nycfoodies #newforkcity #foodstagram #instafood #eatingnyc #nycfat #eastcoastfood #eastcoastfoodies #nyfoodgram
Not everyone can make it home to their families for Thanksgiving.
If you're a southerner looking for some good home-style cooking that you could get in the south, but are locationally stuck in NYC, you need to visit Root & Bone.

Their "Crispy Free-Range Bucket of Bird" isn't exactly turkey, but it'll warm you up inside and out. Their chicken is brined in sweet tea, lemon dusted, and spiked with tabasco honey.
Not feeling a big ol' bucket of fried chicken? Try their "Pumpkin & Kale Salad" with roasted pumpkin, candied pecans, pickled raisins, pecorino & molasses vinaigrette.
,4. Four & Twenty Blackbirds (439 3rd Avenue - Brooklyn)
birdsblack #regram @cleansweetlife 🍁🍂👉we are now taking orders for THANKSGIVING! order online at birdsblack.com✨👈 #brownbutterpumpkin #bittersweetchocolatepecan #saltyhoney #saltedcaramelapple #anotherexcusetohavepie!
This November, we're craving pies. Lots, and lots of pies.
When you're on the hunt for some exceptional pies with flaky, crispy crusts and deliciously tasty, seasonal fillings, you need to head on over to Four & Twenty Blackbirds.

So if you're meeting your boyfriend's parents for the first time and need a pie to bring to Thanksgiving and pass off as your own, the best pies you can buy is from Four & Twenty Blackbirds.
We'd recommend the "Brown Butter Pumpkin," or the "Bittersweet Chocolate Pecan."
5. Black Barn (19 East 26th Street)
blackbarnrestaurant ✨Join us at the Kitchen Table, an intimate dining experience right off Black Barn's kitchen where the chefs curate a tasting menu featuring the week's local produce and ingredients. Reservations can be made by phone📞
November is often a time for celebratory dinners at fancy restaurants. If you want an excellent meal thats different than the cookie-cutter, white table clothed, high end restaurant, you need to try Black Barn.
Recently opened, Black Barn brings a modern barn atmosphere with exposed rafters and wooden accents.

Apart from getting to enjoy the unique setting, the food is well worth the fine dining price tag.
We recommend the "Butternut Ravioli" served with swiss chard, toasted pumpkin seeds, and bacon. If you're in the mood for a big meal, try the "Porchetta," served with broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, fresh lemon, and salsa verde.
