Time to Turn Back the Clock! 7 Things to Do This Weekend in NYC with That Whole Extra Hour

Daylight Savings Time is a little bittersweet. The bitter being it gets dark a lot earlier, so when you leave work you're all, "Well, the day is clearly over. I may as well go to sleep." Not to mention it's a gut check that winter is indeed coming.

But then there's that sweet: an extra hour in the day.

We always wish there was more time in the day, and this is when we sort of get it.

And there's really nothing better than waking up, grabbing your phone to look at the time, and realizing it's an entire hour earlier than you thought it was. You somehow feel productive and good about yourself even though you did absolutely nothing. It's fantastic.

And lest we forget we receive this extra hour on -- wait for it -- HALLOWEEN. It's about to get real spooky up in here.

Here are a few ideas for how to spend that much-needed 3600 seconds of the day. Yep, we did the math.

1. Um, hello... sleep!

We feel this one goes without saying but we just said it anyway.

Plus, we're pretty sure you're going to need that extra hour given Saturday's festivities.

2. Hit a museum

You know how you feel you just never have time to do this? It's one of those things New Yorkers take advantage of having in their backyard, but then can also just never seem to fit it into their schedule. (Writer's note: guilty as charged).

But hey, you have a whole extra hour! Have you seen the new Whitney yet?

3. Get your Winter-wear ready

We don't want to sound like your mom, but you heard us say winter is coming, right?

That extra hour could be a good time for the old clothes swap New Yorkers have to do because no one has a closet actually big enough to hold everything.

So go ahead, grab those sweaters and jackets out from under your bed, or stashed in your bathtub, or wherever you have to keep 'em.

4. Start a new show for those upcoming "Netflix & Chill" days

So many shows, so little time. But wait, there's MORE time now!

We're sure you've heard the sentence, "Dude, you have to watch this show -- it's SO good" from pretty much everyone you know, so we won't tell you that you should absolutely watch Bloodline if you haven't already.

Oh wait.. oops. We also just happen to have a go-to binge list, just saying.

5. Go iceskating

The fact us, come December ice skating rinks will be so overrun with tourists you'll want to off yourself.

Not to mention, it will be a lot colder then, so more ice? No thanks. Get there early now that they're open, and make some damn memories.

6. Work out

Totally just kidding!

You still have a couple months before you need to be in New Year's resolution mode. Soak it up.

7. Eat at an iconic NYC spot you've never tried

For the following reasons:

One: Why work out when you can prepare your body for winter by adding an extra fluffy layer?

And two: Because, well, there's a buttload of them
