We can't believe it's November, but alas, it has become November. It's chilly outside, the leaves are in their full colorful splendor, and Thanksgiving is coming.
Just because Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet doesn't mean the stores won't start stocking for Christmas, like, yesterday, but that's not our point. If you're a holiday enthusiast get to New York City's holiday markets. Most of them will be open selling cuisine and gift delights.
Our point is, we want you to have the best November of your entire life.
Yes, we shoot high. We're over achievers like that. We want you to attend all the coolest events throughout the month of November you possibly can, so we've searched far and wide to bring you the hottest events happening in the city this month.
What are they? Well, you'll just have to read on to find out, won't you?
1. Trapped in a Room with a Zombie (all month long)

It's taking place at 355 7th Avenue on the third floor. It's basically Saw in real life. It's every bit as scary as it sounds. Think you can swing it?
You'll have to show up fifteen minutes in advance to sign a waiver and mentally prepare for your escape. Once the doors are locked, they won't open again until you escape.
Bring your pals, bring your co-workers, bring your girlfriend or boyfriend, and get ready to work together to solve riddles and work against the clock to escape. There will be you, 11 people, and a Zombie chained to the wall.
Hidden somewhere in the room is a key that will unlock the door to freedom. To find the key, you'll need to locate numerous clues and solve riddles. Every five minutes, the Zombie's chain will be released another foot.
After an hour, the Zombie will be able to reach you, and eat you (but not really though, right...?) If your adrenaline is pumping because of how dope this sounds, get your tickets here.
2. Día de Muertos (November 1st - November 2nd)

Come celebrate the beloved Day of the Dead tradition with art-making, live music, and the chance to dedicate Ofrenda to your departed loved-ones. Don't forget to bring copies of their photographs.
You can also send images to be projected during the event.
This event is free and open to the public, but there will be Mexican food and crafts available for purchase throughout the event, which, we really can't think of anything more delicious than some good Mexican food.
There will also be a variety of events and workshops offered in the churchyard of Saint Marks in-the-bowery. It's at 131 East 10th Street, and it'll be a happy, creative, and healing event. For more information, click here.
3. A Taste of Williamsburg (November 1st)
Who doesn't love a good Sunday funday the weekend of Halloween, are we right?
It's common NYC knowledge that Williamsburg is NYC's hippest area, and you can't claim to know this entirely dope town until you've toured every inch of it.
A Taste of Williamsburg will bring you around every inch of Williamsburg. Okay, maybe not every inch, but it'll bring you around a lot of Williamsburg.
It's a unique tasting tour, which runs from the waterfront to Brewer's Row, which will cast the neighborhood in a new light. You'll get to admire plenty of art while munching on plenty of food. The tour lasts two-and-a-half hours, so wear comfortable shoes.

4. Astor Center Red Wine Tasting (November 4th)

The BAFF is dedicated to showcasing and promoting the highest quality films from the NYC independent film community, as well as selected films from across the country and around the world.
They also honor a variety of NYC-based filmmakers, writers, actors and artists who have played an influential role in the growth of independent filmmaking in NYC. They present annual awards in categories like Experimental, NYC Cityscape Award, NY Emerging Talent Award, and the Golden Apple Award.

The BEMF is perhaps the most influential Brooklyn music festival, showcasing the hottest emerging talent alongside the leaders of the global underground.
The BEMF, aside from rocking dope jams for three days straight, also strives to blur gender boundaries and eliminate notions of underground and commercial to simply present artists that need to be heard in NYC.
In other words, it's a platform for the musicians whose music you need to hear to get bumping in your ear drums. There are also workshops and panels that provide those in the electronic music industry to discuss ideas, and the issues and challenges they face as artists.

We all get a little sick of the city every once in a while, don't we? We all need a bit of a day trip out to get some fresh air, not get screamed at, and to roam streets that aren't ridiculously crowded every once in a while, right?
That's why there's the New Jersey Harvest Wine Festival. Actually, that's probably not why the festival exists, but the point is that you can go to it. It's taking place in Short Hills New Jersey, and a great chance for you to get good and friendly with the New Jersey Transit.
At this wine festival, you'll have more than 150 wines at your disposal, made from grapes that were grown on vineyards all around the world. There will be full-bodied and rich reds, crisp whites, and they're all handpicked by expert wine pros.

11. Veteran's Day Parade (November 11th)

The Veteran's Day Parade will march up Fifth Avenue from 26th Street to 52nd Street on Wednesday, November 11th from 11:25 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. whether it's raining or shining out.
The purpose of the parade is to honor the service of our veterans and salute our currently serving military. It's a non-partisan, non-political event. It cannot be used as a platform for any other purpose or political agenda.
Plain and simple, we're honoring the people who fight and sacrifice their health and safety for our country. We're honoring the people who run toward danger rather than away from it.
The United States Navy is this year's featured military branch, though the Army, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard are also represented.

Wine and art? These are the perfect combination, aren't they? They're like Sunny and Cher, Jen and Brad ... er, we mean Angelina and Brad.
Whatever. You know what we meant. Art and wine go great together, and getting mad tipsy while watching painters create gorgeous art is a great way to spend an evening.
You'll even get to pitch in ideas of your own while a trio of inventive artists go wild on a blank canvas. Yes, they'll do this in front of you.
This is also an ideal opportunity to meet like-minded artists and lovers. There will also be food, and, as we mentioned, wine. 13. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (November 26th)
For the past 89 years (yes, that's a lot of years!) the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been NYC's official kick-off to the holiday season.
Every year millions, like really, millions, of people storm NYC to watch the giant balloons, one-of-a-kind floats, and amazing performances march down Central Park West and 6th Avenue on the day of Thanksgiving.
More than 3.5 million people come to watch in person, and more than 50 million watch the parade on TV. So, it's kind of a big deal. We're sure we're not telling you anything you didn't already know.
