We're not ones to ignore reality. We know there are New Yorkers out there who see Halloween as an overrated, overhyped holiday.
There are other New Yorkers out there who will be running in the New York Marathon on Sunday, or partying with their pals after they run the New York Marathon.
What we mean is that there are plenty of New Yorkers who don't see this coming weekend as Halloween weekend. To thousands of New Yorkers, this coming weekend is marathon weekend.
To even thousands of other New Yorkers, this coming weekend is just another weekend.
To those New Yorkers, we say good for you! We haven't forgotten about you. We want you to have a good weekend too, even if your weekend doesn't include donning a costume and getting wasted in a New York City club.
So what should you do this weekend if you're not into that whole Halloween thing? Read on to find out.
1. Splurge on food
Eating a lot, as many of us know, is an activity you can do at any point throughout the weekend. You can carbo-load, and pretend you're running the marathon and that you truly need the carbs. Or, you can just splurge for a delicious meal because, you know, you deserve it.
Also, if you are actually running the marathon, you absolutely need to carbo-load. If you don't believe in that practice, then you absolutely need to treat yourself to a celebratory meal once you're finished running.

What tasty delicacies should you indulge in? Well, how about all the fresh bread, delicious pasta, and even chicken parmesan the city has to offer? Sounds good to us.

If you answered yes to either of those questions, you need to get to Theorem. Famed juggler Greg Kennedy, who in fact did tour with Cirque du Soleil, will be exploring the process of invention through modern manipulation onstage at this wild, mind-blowing show.
It's going to be insane, and full with striking images, live music, choreography, and aerial acrobatics. It is Kennedy's greatest dynamic performance to date.
If you'd like to be amazed this weekend, get to Theorem. You can buy tickets here.
3. Chocolate Tour of New York (75 9th Avenue)
Just because you're not celebrating Halloween doesn't mean you shouldn't get any candy.
What's more therapeutic and healing than chocolate? What's more delicious, and makes you love the world more than the most decadent, richest chocolate in the city?
Well, we'd venture to say nothing. Luckily, NYC is stocked with some pretty excellent chocolate shops. One of them is Chelsea Market, where they've got everything from artisan chocolatiers to candy stores. It also happens to be where the chocolate tour starts.

Once you've had your fill at Chelsea Market, you'll move on to traverse the streets and pop into best and most delicious of NYC's chocolate stores. You'll spend your Friday evening eating your way through Magnolia Bakery, Bisous Cia, Chocolate Bar, and more.

4. Gazillion Bubble Show (340 West 50th Street)
Bubbles are pretty cool, right?
One thing they definitely are is pretty, and once you've popped one, you won't be able to stop.
So now, imagine thousands of bubbles soaring high about the NYC skyline. Sounds breathtaking, right? Well, it is. At the Gazillion Bubble Show, you'll catch your breath at how stunning bubbles are. Then, you'll find the child in you while you run around trying to pop them all.
Are bubbles magic? No, they're just science, but this still sounds like a blast. We're not suggesting that you come twisted, but we will say it'll probably be more fun if you do. Grab your tickets here.

a_brey_d definitely one for the mems 😰😷Happy race week!!! #tcsnycmarathon #nycmarathon #betteroutthanin
If you haven't heard, there's going to be a huge marathon storming through NYC on Sunday. There will be more than 50,000 runners putting themselves through the harrowing task of running 26.2 miles.
So how does this affect you?
Well, if you're not running, you could watch. As a runner, there isn't more exhilarating than when cheers from the crowd surge through their sweaty, fatigued bodies.
[anad2]
The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the Queensboro Bridge are both off limits to spectators, but most of the rest of the course is an epic block party, with half the city out to scream and cheer on all the runners. Check out the course map here.
Of course, everyone will be getting down all throughout the city when the race is done. So you could always join in those popped off festivities, too.
