26 Bars and Restaurants to Eat and Drink in Along Sunday's NYC Marathon Route

Do you have plans this weekend? You should.

If you haven't already noticed by all of the jack-o-lanterns, fake spider webs, and plethora of pumpkin spice everything around the city, it's Halloweekend.

But apart from that, it's also the weekend of the 45th New York City Marathon, where runners and supporters from around the world will be flocking to the city to participate in this beloved display of strength, stamina, and speed.

Some of us (okay, most of us) can't run the 26.2 miles, especially after a night out dressed as Where's Waldo or Donald Trump.

Instead, we'll be parking our cellulite-ridden thunder-thighs in front of the TV drinking some hair of the dog and eating greasy, non-maraton approved foods as we cheer on the runners.

But do you want to do something bigger instead? Wanna feel apart of the action, maybe? Of course you do.

Here are the best spots along the course-- by each and every mile-- to enjoy some very delicious snacks and alcoholic beverages. Enjoy, New Yorkers.

See you at the finish line, yeah?

Mile 1: Pasticceria Bruno (676 Forest Avenue - Staten Island)

_ishamilton Korn Flake French Toast with Vanilla Gelato = Yes

Since mile-marker 1 is on the Verrazano Bridge, we're going to go with a spot right before the starting line.

Runners will be starting off in Staten Island, and we think you should start at Pasticceria Bruno for some brunch. They offer brunch cocktails by the glass or by the pitcher.

Which means, you'll soon be over that Halloween Hangover, and ready to get your marathon on.

Get their "Oreo Pancakes" with whipped cream, stawberries, and chocolate sauce, or their "Grand French Toast" which is brioche bread crusted with corn flakes and served with vanilla gelato...because, you're not marathon training, so whatevs.

Make sure to make a reservation, or you probably won't get in to this brunch spot favorite.

Mile 2: Lock Yard (9221 5th Avenue - Brooklyn)

timintonti Beer graden, football and horror movies... Yep, it's Locktoberfest on a perfect fall Sunday.

Gear up, Marathon drinkers! We're just getting started on mile 2!

Welcome to Brooklyn. Grab yourself some more brunch or a drink at the Lock Yard. You need your stamina, so we're recommending the "Chicken & Waffles" with fried chicken, sharp cheddar, and a splash of sriracha, smothered between honey butter brushed grilled waffles.

In true marathon spirit, order a "Go Go Godzilla Monster Bloody Mary" with house made jalapeno infused sake, slim jim beef straw, jack cheese, pickled vegetables, pearl onion, an olive, and a lemon.

Mile 3: The Kettle Black (8622 Third Ave - Brooklyn)

queenb_bk 100 wings 🍗🍗🍗🍗👹 @c3l0w @mathewt24 @josephc24 @jaredharari @mcsimon08 #wings #sundayfunday #bayridge #brooklyncrew #brooklynluv #bknyc

You're almost at a 5K, marathoners. Which means you need a "60 minute Bottomless Brunch" at The Kettle Black

This little sports bar also has some pretty awesome wings in 11 flavors, so depending on how fast your moving, you can nosh on some buffalo wings or potato skins.

Mile 4: Longbow Pub & Pantry (7316 Third Ave - Brooklyn)

plainsman_the #longbowpub Only #Welshpub in #NYC #Brooklyn #bayridge #bayridgebrooklyn Not on #OHNY Weekend venues, but should be!

Just keep moving!

You're probably feeling really full by now, marathon drinkers. So instead of grabbing some of Longbow's delicious brunch/lunch entrees, just order some of their "Welsh Cakes" and a "Michelada."

What is a "Michelada" you ask? Well, it's Chili Devil beer with tomato juice, clam juice, and lime juice, served in a spicy-salted rimmed glass.

If that won't keep you going, we don't know what will.

Mile 5: Café Zona Sur (4314 4th Avenue - Brooklyn)

awon1988 Late nights, late starts, always working! #dontsleeprecords with @tiffthegiftofficial

Congratulations! If you've made it this far, you've probably surpassed most people in the spoiledNYC office.

To celebrate, you should definitely have some sweets. How about some "Nutella crepes" topped with sliced bananas?

Pair it with a Bellini, and we're set for the rest of this 21.2 mile race!

Mile 6: Roots Café (639A 5th Avenue - Brooklyn)

rootsbrooklyn On this rainy day, I'm super thankful for @40weightmateo for this super delicious Ethiopian coffee! #cupofhappiness #nobigdealijustfoundthecuretorainydayblues

Now we really don't expect you to drink at every single spot on our list in one sitting... actually, we HIGHLY recommend that you do not consume 26.2 drinks in one day. That's way too intense for us.

So you need a break and some caffeine. Grab a "Malted Hot Chocolate" or a "Maple Butter Latte" from Roots Café and get back on the Marathon route to cheer on the incredible specimens of humans running the marathon.

Mile 7: Stone Park Cafe (324 5th Avenue - Brooklyn)

jenlschwartz Post-race salty, spicy Bloody Maria for the electrolyte win #rnrbrooklyn #13point1anddone #runhappy (thanks for making it happen, @brooksrunning!) ☀️🍅🍸

This gourmet spot is one you need to cross off your marathon bucket list. You should also make some reservations, so you can definitely get in to this hit gourmet spot.

All of their food focuses on freshness and seasonality, so you know you're going to get a good, seasonal meal. For brunch, we're feeling some "Housemade granola" with yogurt and fresh fruit.

That'll keep up your stamina for the rest of this race.

,

Mile 8: Pacific Standard (82 4th Avenue - Brooklyn)

goodpassports The only bar that's been a part of every single #GoodBeerPassport and one of the original craft beer bars in NYC; @pacificstandardbrooklyn. It's an awesome neighborhood bar with a great selection of beers.

It's definitely time for another drink, spoiledNYC marathoners!

We love us some NY craft brews, but if you've never had some West Coast beers, you should head on over to Pacific Standard.

We recommend drinking some Founders "Blushing Monk," from Grand Rapids, MI. Or stick with some NY beers, and sip some Kelso Pislner from Brooklyn.

Mile 9: Dough (448 Lafayette Ave - Brooklyn)

juana_villegas 👀

You're probably feeling good by this point, but you can't leave Clinton Hill without stopping at Dough and downing a couple doughnuts. C'mon, you need a sugar rush to keep you going.

Grab a "Cafe au Lait" or "Chocolate with Cocoa Nibs," and you'll be all set for the rest of the way.

Mile 10: Kaffs Bakery (73 Lee Ave - Brooklyn)

rheannone hollahback, #challahBREAD #brooklyn #kaffsbakery

So you've hit mile 10. That's a pretty big achievement in itself.

Get on over to Kaffs Bakery and grab yourself some sweets for tomorrow. You deserve it.

We recommend the challah or rugelach.

Mile 11: Brooklyn Wine Bar (213 North 8th Street - Brooklyn)

brooklynwinery HAPPY NATIONAL RED WINE DAY! 🍷 Tag someone you'd like to share a bottle with. 👇

Not everyone loves sweets and beer. We get that. So you wine-o's should introduce yourself to Brooklyn Wine Bar to try some of Brooklyn Winery's excellent wines.

Sip on some Pinot Noir from Russian River, while noshing on olives or nuts.

You'll probably be feeling a lot more relaxed than our actual marathoners who are almost halfway through their race.

Mile 12: Five Leaves (18 Bedford Ave - Brooklyn)

hervelvetvase.us There has never been a sadness not cured by breakfast food 🍴🍟

Its time for some healthier fare, because, well, we're on a marathon!

You need the "Quinoa Falafel" from Five Leaves. It's made on their housemade flatbread with spiced feta puree, sunflower sprouts, and grilled shishitos.

But since you're eating healthy, you NEED to try some of their spectacular cocktails. We're huge fans of  tequila, so we recommend the "Grapefruit Margarita," with blanco tequila, grapefruit, lime, agave, and a cayenne-salt rim.

Mile 13: Lobster Joint (1073 Manhattan Avenue - Brooklyn)

christianakey 🍹🍹🍹

You've hit the halfway point, marathoners!

We're so psyched about the halfway marker that we decided to splurge with some lobster at the Lobster Joint

Chow down on a "Lobster Club Roll" with celery, fresh herb mayo, avocado, and bacon.

Follow that with a "Pickle Back," with Tullamore Dew Irish Whisky and a side of pickle juice, and you'll be ready for the second half of this route.

Mile 14: Dutch Kills (27-24 Jackson Avenue - LIC)

fmartin3 I love this place :-) #dutchkills #cocktails #nyc #queens

Welcome to Long Island City, marathoners. We can't pass up this opportunity to experience some of the insane craft cocktails they're mixing up at Dutch Kills

We'd sip on the "Floradora" with gin, house-made raspberry syrup, house-made ginger syrup, fresh lime juice, and soda water.

If gin's not your thing, try the "Millionaire Punch" with bourbon, creme de menthe, fresh lemon juice, house-made grenadine, and soda water.

,

Mile 15: Penthouse808 (8-08 Queens Plaza South - LIC)

shar.bani This view was just to beautiful to not post. #sorrynotsorry #happybirthdaybonnie

This spot is excellent for watching the real marathoners cross the Queensboro Bridge while sipping on cocktails and eating great brunch foods.

You haven't had too much dairy in your diet, so you should definitely try the "Burrata," that's served with grilled crostini, molecular olive oil and balsamic pearls, basil, and sun dried tomatoes.

Mile 16: Luscious Thai (1099 1st Avenue)

We've been pretty basic up until this point, and we're anything but basic.

Mile 16 is seriously close to this awesome Thai eatery. Of course, we're going to recommend some "Thai Dumplings," because we love dumplings. They're made with minced shrimp, chicken, mushroom, and watercress nuts.

You also need the "Beef Num Mun Hoi" in your life. It consists of sautéed black beens, oyster sauce, mushroom, scallion, ginger, and broccoli.

Mile 17: The Stumble Inn (1454 2nd Avenue)

wllmmccn Best Way To Start A Week

By this time, you'll probably be stumbling wherever you go, so it just seems fitting that you hit the Stumble Inn

This spot is a great sports bar with 17 high-def flat screens. Plus, it has half priced beer from 12 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sundays.

You can't leave here without trying one of their famous "Stuffed Burgers."

Oh, they also have beer pong tables. Boom.

Mile 18: Earl's Beer and Cheese (1259 Park Avenue)

sole_brotha Trying out #earlsbeerandcheese for the first time. Had the NY cheddar pork belly on sourdough with the goat cheese mac. #food #foodie #foodstagram #instafood #eats #eatnyc #eatplaylaugh #newforkcity #newporkcity #nomnom #foodporn #breakfast #2ndbreakfast #lunch #snack #supper #dinner #forkinaround #forkwithme #foodphotography #sogood

Food. It's time for more food, marathoners. You are in the UES, so you don't want to seem too schwifty by the end.

But you don't want just any old food. You want excellent food. We'd recommend the "NY State Cheddar Grilled Cheese" from Earl's Beer and Cheese.

It's pork belly, kimchi, and a fried egg on sourdough. Since cheese is one of the best things in the world, you also need the "Mac & Cheese" that's made with goat cheese, and crispy rosemary with rigatoni shells.

Mile 19: Patsy's Pizzeria (2287 1st Avenue)

iam_c.taylor Pizza Pizza 😍🍕

By now you definitely need some drunk food. What better drunk food is there than pizza?

Trick question, New Yorkers. Pizza is definitely the only answer.

Since we're all about the best of the best, you need to eat some "Macellaio" pizza with pepperoni, sausage, beef meatball, grated mozzarella, and tomato sauce. Between all the meat and carbs, you'll be ready for the homestretch.

Mile 20: Mott Haven Bar (1 Bruckner Blvd - the Bronx)

Hey hey spoiledNYC! You've made it to mile 20! You've pretty much doubled some of our best runs here at spoiledHQ.

For that, you need nachos. Not just any old nachos, but house-made chips, cheddar cheese, chili, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and jalapeños. And you need those from Mott Haven Bar

Mile 21: Sylvia's Restaurant (328 Malcolm X Blvd)

pyreaux_ Hands down the best chicken & waffles I've EVER had! @sylviasrestaurant #chickenandwaffles #macaroniandcheese #waffle #belgianwaffle #friedchicken #foodie #foodgasm #foodporn #yesgawd #BEASTMODE #OMG #orgasm #orgasmic #ilovefood #food #dinter #dinner #birthdaydinner #sylvias #harlem

By now, you definitely need some soul food.

All we need to tell you is that you need to try the "waffles with smothered chicken." It's served all day long.

If you're really not feeling some waffles, you NEED to try the "BBQ Ribs." You can thank us later.

,

Mile 22: Harlem Tavern (2153 Frederick Douglass Blvd)

dannigeenyc Having a little lunch and girl talk!! #GirlTalk #HarlemTavern

You're almost there. Seriously, if you've made it this far (in the actual marathon or on this fattening-drunk marathon), you're a champ in our books.

Keep it up, you've only got a couple more miles to go.

Stop in at the Harlem Tavern. You need the "Bull Dog," which is a beer cocktail made with a frozen margarita and a 6oz. Coronita.

We're sure you've seen them before, but if you haven't tried it yet, now's your chance.

If you're just feeling a beer at this point, try the 21st Amendment "Hell or High Watermelon."

Mile 23: El Paso (1643 Lexington Avenue)

condecmom Salud!

Margaritas. Margaritas are what you need in your life right now. You specifically need some of the creative, delicious margaritas from El Paso while you nosh on some guacamole.

If you want some tequila, but not the sugary sweetness that accompanies a margarita, try one of their tequila flights. You have a choice between "Blanco," "Reposado," or "Anejo" tequilas. Choose wisely friends.

Mile 24: La Maison Du Chocolat (1018 Madison Avenue)

🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫 If you're a chocolat fan, here are five stores you must try in the city; Maison du Chocolat, Teuscher, Mast Brothers, Max Brenner and Jacques Torres!! 😋😋😋

It's time for some dessert. And since we really don't think that we'll be fit to enter any civilized restaurant at this point in our boozy food marathon, we're sticking with this amazing chocolate shop.

Essentially, just eat anything. We'd recommend the chocolate macarons, because they're amazing. You'll probably want to bring a bunch home with you. Along with half of the shop.

Mile 25: The Pony Bar (1444 1st Avenue)

will_noyes #Cheers! Met a friend at #ThePonyBar on the #UES for a beer. I heard this place was awesome and it didn't disappoint. Happy to see that is reopened now after it was shut dow for a couple months as the result of a fire. I had an Abita Bourbon Barreled Aged Rye Pale Ale which didn't disappoint #BeerGeek #AbitaBeer #BarrelAged #RyePaleAle #CraftBeerNation #instabeerofficial #BeerArt

So we're going just a tad bit off course, but we figured that we probably shouldn't send you in some fancy schmancy bars and restaurants in the Upper East Side after all of the miles you've drank through.

The Pony Bar is a great place to finish up with some craft beers before that last mile. The ever changing beer list pretty much ensures that you'll be able to try at least one beer that you've never even heard of before.

Mile 26: Tanner Smiths (204 West 55th Street)

frenchie77 🍸🍸🍸

CONGRATULATIONS! You've made it to the final stop. You're a boss.

If you haven't actually made it, but made an attempt, we salute your efforts.

Tanner Smiths has such a good cocktail list that you'll forget your entire day of drinking and eating. Celebrate your crazy awesome accomplishment with a "Hudson Duster," made with templeton rye, amaretto, fresh lime juice, house-made clove syrup, and Boston bitters.

Or do it right, and celebrate with a bottle of Marquis de la Tour Champagne from France. You deserve it.
