This is not a drill. This is very much for real.

Did you know that in the 1920s drinks used to cost 35 cents? Did you know there was a time where having pennies actually mattered, when you could make use of those little coins we call nickels?

Well, it's true. This was all before inflation, though, so 35 cents used to be worth much more than it is now. 

Still, we're all nostalgic for the more simple time when a delicious cocktail cost a handful of coins instead of $15.

We're also a little bit nostalgic for the time when alcohol was illegal. We're sure that'd be a bummer, but it'd also make us feel like serious BAMFs every time we drank. Now, we just feel like shady alcoholics.

Anyway, there are plenty of speakeasies in New York City, plenty of places where you can sneak into a bar's basement and transport yourself to yesteryear with fancy cocktails and antique furniture.

However, there aren't any places that charge actual 1920s prices. Until now.

Lower East Side's Louie and Chan has decided their speakeasy experience would be authentic, and that now includes 35 cent cocktails. It's going down on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Along with 1920s prices, you'll also experience 1920s charm.
