It's a fact of life in New York City that New Yorkers must deal with the MTA. 

If you're one of the lucky ones who works strange hours than you're often not subject to the preposterous crowds, but you are probably more than familiar with waiting up to an hour for a train.

If you're one of the "normal" New Yorkers who works normal hours and hates being on the train because of a stranger's crotch being in your face over a 45 minute commute, than you know what it means to wish trains came more frequently.

In an ideal world, the train would come so often that absolutely none of them would ever be crowded. 

So it's really good news that the MTA is planning to increase the amount of trips most subway lines make everyday, come next summer. And they damn well better provide better service-- since the MTA is soaking up $30 billion of New Yorkers' money, amirite? 

Don't get us wrong, we're glad they got the funding they needed to keep the subways from getting worse. We're also glad they're using some of that money to make our subway experience a little easier.

So what lines are going to feature improved service? The 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, A, C, E, J, M, and N lines will be a little more pleasant come next summer.

So the biggest improvement will be the C line on Sunday mornings. Instead of waiting almost 20 minutes, they're cutting that down to closer to ten minutes. Plus, the Times Square/Grand Central shuttle will run twice as often. 

Give the above breakdown a good once-over; you may be surprised how much effort the MTA is putting into saving you some minutes. 

Well, hopefully... right?
