We've all experienced subway delays. Sometimes they last five minutes, sometimes they last two hours. Nobody really enjoys them, especially if the train is packed like a sardine can, and everyone has to just stand there breathing each other's air.
It's gross. Nobody wants to taste the inside of your lungs while trapped in a metal box underground. Luckily, a recent break down of the E train wasn't so bad.
Sure, the train was out of operation for about two hours, but that didn't stop New Yorkers from having a good time.
At first everyone seemed pissed off, but after a while everyone apparently submitted to the fact that there was nothing to be done and, what else, had a sing along.
It doesn't seem to matter all that much now, but the problem was electric-current collection failure. What does matter though, is just how awesome New Yorkers are, and how we make the best out of a bad situation.
So it's pretty cool that once the smart phone music inevitably started bumpin', everybody on the train sang along because what the hell else were they going to do?
They go through some pretty sweet tracks too, there's Drake, The Weeknd, Bob Marley, DMX and more.
