You know that whole thing about how New York City is the "big apple?" We thought you would. Here's our question, though: When was the last time you saw any actual apples?
We know, we know, there are apples in the grocery store and in the kitchen of some health conscientious New Yorkers, but are there really more apples in NYC than there are in other cities?
Well, the Big Apple Crunch will change all that.
Held on October 24th, businesses, schools organizations and individuals will all crunch into apples simultaneously. It'll be the crunch heard around the world.
Why October 24th, you're wondering? October 24th is Food Day, that's why. Since food is what sustains us as organisms-- plus, our nearest and dearest love --we're all about celebrating food. We're pretty into apples too, so we're about this holiday.
Want to be a part of the crunch heard around the world? Excellent. You can be.
Join the Crunch at select GrownNYC Greenmarkets or Youthmarkets, or find another location near you.
Want to host your own Crunch?
Well, aside from just biting into an apple in your kitchen, or on your roof deck or whatever, you can sign up to host an official Crunch here.
Really, all you need to host a Crunch are apples and a camera. Take pictures, then post them to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to let everyone know you Crunched for Food Day with the hashtag #BigAppleCrunch.
Ready, set, crunch!
