miss KOREA BBQ is known far and wide as some of the best Korean barbecue in all of NYC.
It's an exquisite Korean barbecue dining experience. What's so exquisite about it? Well, the answer is the spicy pork belly. It's juicy, and a must-have for your table.
We've also got to spend some time discussing their kimchi pancake with chili pepper scallion; it's got a delicious texture and flavor, and it will rock your world. Plus, their short ribs are so wonderfully tender, and you cannot go wrong with the bulgogi and octopus hotpot.
It tends to get crowded, but that's because it's delicious. The service is rapid, and you'll be grilling the meat at your table yourself, so dress accordingly.
2. Kang Suh (1250 Broadway)
Kang Suh is an iconic Koreatown BBQ, which just underwent a pretty stellar refurbishment. Kang Suh is still serving the same barbecue they were serving 30 years ago, and its interior is ready to wow.
They've got the best kimchee jigae in the city, and we wouldn't shake a stick at their signature marinade or crispy, lean pork belly either. It's all cooked exactly how you desire on your own tabletop grill.
We guarantee when you dine at Kang Suh, you will not leave unsatisfied. Also, they're open 24/7, and it always helps to have a go-to place to hit at four in the morning.
3. Kum Gang San (13828 Northern Blvd - Queens)
Kum Gang San, located in Queens, is arguably the most deliciously authentic Korean barbecue in all of the five boroughs. it's the go-to spot for many Korean families in Queens for gatherings or family reunions.
That said, if you are rolling around with a large squad, this is your go-to. It is excellent for groups.
Kum Gang San's ban chan always has a different variety and is extremely delectable. Their LA kalbi is very tender, and is marinated perfectly. Also, they truly make their soups traditionally, and they've got appetizers galore.
Our point is that whenever you come to Kum Gang San, you can expect to have a wholly delicious and satisfying meal. Plus, it's also open 24/7.
4. Han Joo Chik Naeng Myun & BBQ (41-06 149th Place - Queens)
Han Joo Chick Naeng Myun & BBQ makes their food in authentic Korean style, which makes for both a delicious dinner and a joyful evening.
They've also got a crystal grill, which really elevates it a cut above the rest. They slant the plate they grill it on, so all the fat slides off.
We highly recommend sinking your teeth into the duck breast and marinated pork belly. They've also got plentiful side dishes, and a pleasant surprise was that instead of giving you a fortune cookie, they'll give you Yakult.
All in all, we highly recommend hightailing it out to Queens for this Korean delicacy.
,5. Shilla (37 West 32nd Street)
This is a lovely little restaurant in Koreatown that doesn't get as crowded as its other Koreatown counterparts.
Can we make a suggestion? We suggest the seafood pancake appetizer. It is wildly tasty. Their fresh fish over rice is delicious, their intestines kimchi soup is unique, and their Suzy Bomb drink combo will get you wasted. Don't say we didn't warn you.
Their marinated beef rib is tender and succulent, and absolutely bursting with flavor. It's hands down the best dish in the restaurant.
Shilla is also a pretty stellar place to hit up with a group and have a fun night out on the town.
6. Don's Bogam BBQ & Wine Bar (17 East 32nd Street)
gibbiedeano Great meal @donsbogambbq a couple days ago with @mikexingchen @msmiaaa @feliciaxlee dumplings, their special bibimbap and bulgogi and short rib soup were especially amazing. One of the few times we got seafood BBQ as well the scallops reminded me back home in NE
Korean BBQ and specialty wine? Do we really need to say more?
Okay, we'll say more. Don's Bogam is a real standout. They've got an amazing food and atmosphere. You'll probably want to marry their marinated short ribs. Also, you absolutely have to try their marinated galbi, and spicy galbi.
We highly recommend their ribeye barbecue and such yummy side items. They've got two seating sections, one where you cook the food yourself, and another where they make it for you. If you want to sit at one of the tables where you cook yourself, a reservation is the move.
They've also got plentiful, delicious side dishes, and lots of flavorful dipping sauces. In a word, they've got a delightful dining experience. You'll probably wind up getting addicted.
7. Jongro BBQ (22 West 32nd Street)
At Jongro BBQ, your meal comes with delicious side dishes like kimchi stew and steamed egg, cooked table-side.
They've got an old fashioned ambiance, and their service is extremely attentive. Their pork belly is juicy, but not greasy. They've got quality meat for a quality price, and large portions. So you'll leave satiated.
They also endlessly refill your side dishes. The spicy seafood soondubu is absolutely delicious, and pairs well with their meats.
They've also got great drinks, and extremely authentic Korean food. You'll probably have to wait for a table, but that's just because people flock to what's great. You'll enjoy your meal, and you'll want to go back again.
