Way back when, do you remember a crew of mad men throwing down psychotic impromptu, saxophone-driven dance parties in the New York City subway system, before the New York Police Department would shut them down?  

You know the guys. Come on, don't act like you didn't see them in our October Indoor Concert Guide.

Or maybe you've seen them at a music festival or two. And it's very possible you've heard your friends getting down to Moon Hooch inside your New York City apartment, pre-gaming before a night on the town. 

Whatever the case may be, Moon Hooch is one NYC trio that demands your attention-- that is, if they haven't already got it. 

The Brooklyn outfit has been killing it for a while now, having come a long way from their humble roots guerrilla-raving in the NYC subway after meeting at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Between extensive tours around the country, Moon Hooch is now coming back to the City this Friday, October 23rd to rock out the largest Gothic structure in the known universe: St. John the Divine Cathedral. 

Not only that, there's even a cooking tutorial by drummer and cooking blogger James Muschler. The evening's festivities are part of the Cathedral's multimedia expedition, "The Value of Food: Sustaining a Green Planet."

So yeah, there's a lot happening this Friday. A psychedelic light show, cooking demonstration, and then an epic musical performances by Too Many Zooz and finally, Moon Hooch.  

Tickets are going for $20 at the door and $18 in advance (although you can get them them $15 with student ID).
